The cops get orders from their superiors. The superiors do not want any one charged from the thugs who violently interrupting the peaceful Eritrean festival. Yes, that makes no sense! If they were wearing blue shirts so clearly an organized group and protested peacefully near to the event site, sure whatever. But, they brought weapons? They should’ve been arrested-any and all who provoked and participated in bringing weapons and attacking others who were just there to (presumably) celebrate their culture. Otherwise, if they have concerns that it’s a fundraiser, hmm, there are better choices for voicing concerns for that too. These are Embassy-funded festivals..not quite what most Eritreans would consider a "party" they can join or celebrate their heritage freely. Typically Eritrean Canadians over generations came here because Canada provided them with amnesty. They do not attend or show up to these open events because the Foreign leaders do come and galavant in our land much to the horrors of the assylum seekers I would imagine. Most of them are very peaceful loving, hard working, and highly educated, and warm.
