This is Olivia Chow's Toronto. 13 million dollars to change Dundas square to Sankofa while drugs and homelessness get ignored. This govt. is disgusting.

what an imbecile. nothing you are talking about is a result of her time in office moron. not the renaming of the square of the homeless situation. nobody with a functional brain would entertain your nonsense. The scary thing is you could work both a full time job and a part time job at the same time, and still not be able to afford to live in a home in Toronto. Not all the people that live on the streets are dealing with addiction or mental illness, some are working sixty hours a week.
@dgabit

Yes Toronto and GTA homes are very expensive like any other major city. Hopefully they will build more affordable housing and get more people off the streets. Thanks.

the one with the hijab a t 1:30 is not homeless, I guarantee she is getting tons of government support. There is a woman that does the exact same thing here in Calgary. Has a sign that says "HELP ME I HAVE KIDS THAT ARE HUNGRY" (or something along those lines). Yet she has time to come and stand at an intersection in a plaza with her sign every day for hours. Obviously someone is watching the kids and she has spare time...GET A JOB.
@dgabit

There are many of them with the same sign all over the city, and people say the same as you, it's some type of scam. Hopefully people don't get taken advantage of.
@SethAnderson-tz2oo

A lot of them will leave there oldest child to watch the rest, you really don’t know what your talking about, maybe go meet some of these people first hand, you’ll see alot of the same signs about a death in the family and a lot do those you know can tell are fake, a lady holding a sign for food for her children is not a scam she has more balls then you to deprive herself on that corner to make money, do you know how many foreigners are unhoused? I spend hours walking the Toronto streets talking with migrants there are so many living on the streets with there entire family it’s insane

A lot of people begging for money part time to earn extra tax free income. I say that because they’re too clean to be homeless.
@SethAnderson-tz2oo
@SethAnderson-tz2oo 3 месяца назад
@@jimrudolph2864 there is many public showers, you don’t need to be dirty to be homeless, a lot of them actually do take care of themselves and use the washing machines, it’s the far gone ones that are all dirty and grimy and they are not the one you want to give your money to anyways! Next time you see a clean homeless person try to make conversation don’t be rude but ask about the way they live daily give them some money or food and actually sit and talk to a human rather then scoffing at them thinking they are just “Vagrants” as most do, if you really get to the real story a lot of them are not there by choice and if they are it’s because they are running from problems in there family life or the country they may have come from, I’ve been trying for months and still can’t find a job in Toronto I have to leave to do work to be able to come back to look for more work in Toronto, if anyone would like to walk around the city with me and see a different side please feel free to reach out, I know plenty of small community’s that will completely change your concept of Toronto, the people really are working together to help each other it’s not as dark as people see it as
@SethAnderson-tz2oo
@SethAnderson-tz2oo 3 месяца назад
@@jimrudolph2864 you don’t need to be dirty to be homeless, there are so many resources within the city to take care of yourself with free showers food banks and other places that give out free supplies such as some clinics with anyone under 25 can get there stuff for free, there is so many programs that provide resources maybe not enough, but if you see someone dirty on the street that’s drugs and they choose to be that way, don’t blame it on a homeless problem because it’s not it’s drugs, I know plenty of homeless people that take showers literally everyday

Average temperatures range between -6 degrees Celsius (21 degrees Fahrenheit) and -1 degree Celsius (30 degrees Fahrenheit). But we do get streaks of temperatures below -20 (-4 Fahrenheit) with wind chill often.
