been in Canada and Montreal for 20 years but: -the english pop in montreal already speak english and 90% of the french population can speak english fluently, its extremely hard to find a french canadian who cannot speak fluently english. -summers in Montreal are much more exciting that Toronto. There is much more thing to do in MTL than Toronto. -Montreal has a unique french-english identity while Toronto is basically just a generic north american city -The landscape of the city is just better -very affordable housing. even housing in downtown is way more affordable than Toronto. - The tech industry is more developed in Montreal than Toronto - If you are unilingual and only speak english, you can come to Montreal get friends and you can be fluent in french in 4 years if you put it on a little bit effort. I have several friends who came in Montreal with 0 french and now, they literally refuse to speak to me in english. My only regret is that we dont have a basketball team :)
While I agree that Montreal is a gem in North America, I think, as a non-French speaker, finding a job in Montreal is relatively harder than in Toronto. Toronto is also arguably more diversified and offers a bit more business opportunities ever since the rush of companies relocating to Toronto when Quebec wanted out. Montreal's transit system covers the island way better than Toronto though the wait time is also significantly longer and the vehicle are quite old and not as easily accessible for people with disability. I feel like I would have loved Montreal more if I had spoken French, which is why I'm thinking of taking French classes in University. I visit Montreal quite often, in the Summer and on Christmas breaks.
90% of the french population can speak english fluently = is a false statement. If you go outsideof Montreal, very few people speak English fluently = almost all of the Anglos have left Quebec. How can you speak fluent English if there are no more Anglos to speak with ?
@@klarissaclairiton9010 Been living in Montreal for 20 years, I am almost 30 now. I worked in at least 6 stores and 3 electronic stores dealing with all sort of people immigrants and locals. I never saw someone below 40 years old who cannot speak english fluently....Fluently simply means to be able to speak at a regular pace without waiting each sentence 20 seconds to search your words. For people above 40 years old, Its understandable that their english is not perfect but even there they speak it enough to hold a conversation. I would like you back up your statements that almost all anglos have left Quebec, seems like a very cheap prejudices. Quebecois arent perfect but its a very old and cheap prejudices to say they are antienglish or that they dont know how to speak english
@@philmuda sorry I have not found French people in Montreal to be biligual, most of them will refuse to speak English. Those who can speak English, speak it rather poorly. I think you spend alot of time in the west end of the city where there are more bilingual people.
Just a little precision even if in Montreal, we mostly speak french,60% of the population can talk easily in english... so don't be scare to not be able te communicate
@@blackvaiii3011 In Montreal, there are multiples school in english like McGill and you also have school in French like UDEM (these are pretty good schools) but in Toronto, school is way less affordable like every other things and they tried to close the only French university of the province which is located in Toronto
You didn't talk about technology and video games job for montreal?! Montreal is in the top 5 for video games and technology! Toronto is not even top 20
your probably from montreal that hates toronto. Don't worry we will always be canada's city and known for the best city in north america other then nyc. I can hear you people from quebec screaming " Non, nous sommes meilleurs" 😂😂😂😂🤣
When Toronto is so expensive why everyone moves there ? of job oportunity I understand but the rent and other utilities are too expensive. If i get Ita I know that i will not live in toronto but everywhere else
salary is related to the cost of living wherever you go, the only thing is that here in Quebec we pay 2 taxes but an exemple, alot of my people who live there in montreal move to Alberta and Vancouver for 6 months for work there because it is really well paid, but once again cost of life is really high there so thats the reason why they spend only few months there and come back to Montreal with a good stack
You must be mistaken with Alberta or Saskatchewan. Southern Ontario isn’t that bad. The winters are actually pretty tame. The odd large snowfall, but no Calgary weather.
True......but the lifestyle is very business driven!! Once youre done with work you go home and watch netflix!!! In Montreal most people will end up going to a park and enjoy themselves or whatever else!
I would point out that, in reality, public transit in Toronto is terrible. The metro lines cover a very narrow portion of the city, and there aren't nearly as many bus routes. Having street cars is not an advantage in and of itself when buses serve the exact same function.
@@maximeperez-raymond3346 the Raptors and the Blue Jay's...both champions in their history. All Montreal has is the Habs. They couldn't even keep the Expos
@@FuShengAlex and....you care. the only sport in Canada is the hockey and the vast majority of canadien people care only the hockey. not monkey with a ball.
@@maximeperez-raymond3346 pfft.....I dont give a hoot about hockey lol. Goes to show what a racist you are to make a comment "monkey with a ball". When the Raptors made their championship run 2 years ago, cities across the country....including Montreal..... had 1000s of people cheering on unison outdoors on big screens. Nobody outside of Montreal was cheering on the Habs in large numbers, and in any event they got crushed just like the French did 450 odd years at the Plains of Abraham 😂😂😂
@@sihammameri3464 im living Montreal!!! Ive visited Toronto on a few occasions and i must say it feels very much like an american big city like nyc chicago etc!!! Impressive city but quite a serious atmosphere....theres events and parties as well but not as enjoyable as Montreal except for caribana!!! All around i prefer Montreal to live ....i find Montreal to be alot safer better food and environment!! The rent is tremendously cheaper as well
Hi! I have Master & Bachelor Degree from India and WES report shows “ Bachelor's degree (three years) and bachelor's degree (four years) (CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY)”. Please suggest to me what should I enter while creating the Express Entry profile?
I've been leaving in montreal last 17 years,I speak 2 languages, but recently ,because recent government language stupidities I'm debating m9ving to Ontario because I'm concerned about my kids education and future
why People are always showing the CN Tower ? and the quality of picture i is always selected compare to Montreal which is the only UNESCO design and architecture city in Canada and rich of more than 400 years of history from the Mount Royal to the Iold Montreal .... famous architects built Montreal like New York Central park and Mount Royal etc ... at least show a picture of The Old Montreal direction to the Mount Royal
Montreal is now considered as the first choice of students in North America, which was held by Boston before. Vancouver comes in 3rd, and Toronto in 4th. Both Montreal and Toronto offer great choices. As for the best, well, that depends what you do wish to study, if you are fortunate or not. Both cities actually offer a lot, but you will have to dig in more by yourself according to what you want later, "best city" is not exactly the answer...
