Boiiii I will for sure buy a T-1 when I get some more cash. I'm also building my 12 channel midi controller atm, coupled with a syntakt and 303 running into Reaper (screenless). It's gonna be aaaawesome. Thank you so much for making these videos. I'd love short videos, like 5 minutes or something where you highlight a certain feature or certain way of working with any one of your instruments.

Have mine for a month and after watching this video I unwrapped it and tried it without looking at the manual. Its just great! All major operation is super straight forward and you get from nil to something with lightspeed. And with a little love from there to amazing stuff :-) The whole approach is so nicely different from the usual pattern programming. Its just a joy to use. Its kind of an instrument while not being one...

Looks fun, I think after the Cirklon which so far is the best sequencer I have come across (but correspondingly expensive) and the Octatrack with scenes, mixer + fx, the T1 could make a perfect sequencer for noodling and cooking up some alternative ideas, I don't say that disparagingly as noodling leads to better things.

That’s mad. T1 and Elektron make a good pairing (I feel like the T1 has some Elektron ‘genes’ in it). Did not realise it doubles as a CC controller. I assume (up arrow) and (down arrow) are linked to breath/mod macros for risers and breakdowns?

The use of midi cc locking, where you have to turn it down on another step is like the parameter slides on the Rytm.

Great video! 🥳 Love it! Gonna take some time and explore the T-1. For me I had a real hard time wrapping my head around how it deals with arpeggios, I'm used to first having to create a chord and then transforming it into an arpeggio, but tyhe t-1 seems to have a different logic.

Great T-1 videos and tunes! Quick question - are you doing anything with program changes from the T-1, to change presets on your synths? The program change implementation is really basic (fixed values per bank/pattern), so i was thinking of using CC tracks with some Bome translation instead. Would be great to hear you thoughts on this...

Incredible demo! I'm looking at sequencers to pair with the SH-4d, and this might be the one to get for live shows. This is probably a stupid question, but are you programming sequences on the Syntakt and manipulating them on the Torso, or is everything stored on the T-1? Is either an option?

I like that. I was actually thinking of getting a digitakt with torso t1 and a separate small 4 part multitimbral synth called freds lab manatee . But the thing is I like the idea of having additional melodic synths on the syntakt. But i'm worried that I might need some sample action for my drums. Yours sound really nice in this. But sometimes you need a bit of grit that comes from sampled drums. It will be my primary drum machine. I'm just wondering are the synthetic drums going to be enough for me? Obviously I like the extra control you get with synth drums but say for example layering samples for kicks and claps and snares is great. I'm generally really happy with synthetic high hats though. As an all in one thihng syntakt is a beast. I would buy it tomorrow if it had samples. But i'm thinking if i've got a 4 part synth as well maybe I should sacrifice that on the elektron gear and get digitakt so I can get some more textured sampled drums. But saying that I do love tweaking analogue hats. That is a nice feeling. I can only have one. I don't have room for two. Man thats a tough one.
@hillbilly8621
@hillbilly8621 7 месяцев назад
I started with the Syntakt, I think for some styles (in the realm of techno) you could be happy with just that. But I also bought a Digitakt for that very reason, to have the grit of sampled drums. You could sacrifice a couple of Syntakt channels to midi trigger an external sampler, but IMO once you're hooked on the Elektron workflow, you just want more.

hey man! first off all thanks for all of those great explanations about the mighty T1 seq. 🙏 I have a specific question. Can we use the T1 and ST sequencer at the same time, in junction? I mean, can I program a simple set of tracks / song ideas (patterns and sounds) on the ST then manipulate / improvise them on the fly with the T1 live to be able to reload my project on the ST to the original state of the patterns? without ruining the original patterns and settings :) or do we have to write them all on the T1 and forget about the ST seq. completely. Thanks in advance 🙏 peace ☮
@AnalogSolmusic
@AnalogSolmusic 4 месяца назад
Welcome! You would probably have to sequence them all from the T1. But you could just put the corresponding T1 pattern in the same slot as ST. There is also a MIDI in mode on T1 where you can manipulate incoming midi, but if you fed that back into the the ST it would likely cause a midi feedback loop etc

@@AnalogSolmusic I saw this on the video, and then the website says 'each track can be set to one of the 3 track types'! I can’t wait to get this machine. It’s a shame it’s only one Euclidean pattern per step, I like the Rytm's 2 patterns with logic operators, but I think feeding back into tracks with the T1 can do the same thing. Thanks for your videos on this. Really helpful and inspiring.

Glad u like the vids. Yeah, each track has 3 modes. MIDI, CC, and input. But you can run them all at once and switch between them easily. U can see me doing it in some of my videos. Loving your T1 videos! Would be cool to see your approach to transition between songs and/or sounds on the Syntakt. I guess you could put different "soundsets" for each pattern of a project, maybe keeping one or two sounds the same from one to the next to help the transition. Another question is if you have considered a big midi controller (like a faderfox PC12) to map all the major Syntakt controls per track (like cutoff, fx sends, decay etc.) so you can twist different parameters at once, or if you find the T1 cc capabilites enough to mangle sounds live. Thanks and keep doing these very cool workflow breakdown videos!

T-1 seems dope af, though I haven’t touched one yet. Elektron’s sequencer isn’t bad (it was the best at one point IMO) but they’ve left it to rust. Nowadays pretty much anyone making a sequencer blows it out of the water. A shame since that was Elektron’s real selling point, because sonically, all their boxes are whatever sounding. I suspect they’ll add the Euclidean sequencer to the other boxes but still… too little too late. How about a ping pong, random . Also, only 8cc’s and basically nothing special for for the midi tracks… no arp, no ratchets, 1 LFO… it’s a really basic sequencer for external boxes.
