Torture for a 6 yr old wanting an iPad of his own! 

To the people that are saying that the kid is spoiled, he isnt. That kid was happy about the cars he got in a reused ipad box. He didnt get mad, scream, or just throw them across the room he actually liked them. If the kid was spoiled we wouldve got mad

That kid was very calm when he thought he had one but he didn't, but kids these days are so ungrateful but these kids are soooo kind ;)

It has been OVER 2 yrs. They both still have their Ipads and they are still being used. To EVERYONE who has said wonderful things it is truly appreciated. To all those who have mean and nasty things to say, I just PRAY that you never have to be in a situation where you feel helpless with your child. When my daughter was able to use her Ipad to tell us what she wanted to eat. It was amazing. My kids are 2 very special kids who work HARD everyday to be "ok" in their own skin. I am so very proud of them.

What makes me happy is that the boy was absolutely fine with using his sisters iPad for all of his new stuff. Tip of the hat for him!

Reading a load of the comments, I'm amazed at how many adults are obviously jealous of two children having iPads. They are amazing for autistic children as I have two lads with autism who also have there own iPads and have learnt so much off them in the last 12 months.

When I first saw Walker's iPad, it looked like his mom wrote "Merry Christmas Walker" directly ON the iPad.

Regardless of if they're on the autism spectrum or not, a iPad is not the kind of gift that will help them the most, especially at their ages.

we need more parents like those. granted they're expensive gifts, but the kids were very well behaved, and very thankful and grateful.

Wait. Why would a kid who can't even talk who is like 3 have an iPad before her older brother?

I love how in the beginning he didn't complain about having to share his sisters IPad.

My kids are gonna hate me. They are not getting any expensive electronics until high school. No laptops, no smartphones, no tablets, no game consoles, none of it. They can use my computer if they need it for school. They can use my game console if I still play games when I have kids (pretty sure I will; probably be ps5 by then). I don't see the point in buying something so expensive for a kid when they are just gonna break it and when a lot of adults in their 40s don't even have stuff like that. Simply put, my kids are not gonna have nicer electronics that mommy and daddy. I hate how my stepmom bought both my little brothers (8 & 10) 3ds' and she always buys two copies of the same game so they don't fight over games. Really?

I do have to say your kids are very mature and polite. your son was defiantly disappointed but was excited and said thank you for everything he got.

I got an iPad (first gen DX) when I was 9. I guess they need it more than I do.

It's sickening all the mean comments. These kids need this iPad to learn. It helps them with many abilities like spelling and learning. These children are precious. I think this is a great gift for them. Their parents chose this for them! They are the parents, not you so leave them alone!

Why would someone want an iPad so badly? There are so many tablets that are better than iPad..

So what if they're spoiled? Should it matter to you? It's supposed to help them in various ways. You can't just sit there and say ":[ NUUUUUH I CANT GET AN IPAD AND IM 16." Granted, there are some cases in which kids are spoiled, but they don't show any appreciation.

I actually feel sorry for the kid...cause his excitement had been killed so that when he got to the end and opened the ipad finally...he didn't get to experience the natural high you get when you get something you desperately want but have no idea is coming. lol the poor mom had great intentions and tried to make it super exciting and fun for the poor kid...but she accidentally ruined the moment for the kid in the strung out process.

I think you have beautiful children :) I am a music therapy major in school, and I know the impact that electronics, and especially the technology on an iPad, can have on children on the autism spectrum. Props to you for giving these children everything possible to make their lives just a little easier for them, and you! Hope all is going well

Why do kids want iPads anyway?

These comments are incredibly rude, I have an autistic cousin, and I have watched him with electronics and he is amazing with them.Like he works it way better than me.Yeah I get iPads are expensive,but that's their money so they can spend it however and on whatever they like.Then those of you who are judging them for naming THEIR son Walker need to stay in your lane,don't go telling people what they should have named THEIR child! Your kids are so cute and I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas :)

I got my ipad for my 14th or 15th birthday and I think youre kids are WAY too young for ipads they can share them thas kinda messed up

Awwwee I'm sooo glad he got an ipad! I have a little brother and we tortured him when he got his ipad by hiding it and he had to open all his presents and then he spotted it! He was soooo disappointed after he opened his, what he thought, was his last present! Great vid!

both of my children are autistic. My daughter uses hers as a speech assist. It is amazing that she can tell me what she wants to eat for dinner. She has come a very long way since she started using it. My son has Aspergers and has many social issues along with anxiety. His helps him work through his social issues by using apps with social stories. Also, being Aspergers he has many high points such as math. So there are SO many apps to help push him beyond his 1st grade ability.

He took the initial disappointments really well actually. Heck, most people would expect a child on the Autistic Spectrum to have a harder time reacting to something like this. He was a perfect little gentleman. Good for you, you've done a better job parenting than most people I know!

The hate in these comments is insane... What is wrong with people that have autism? I have witnessed people with autism do more things then the haters in these comments could ever dream of doing.

I think it is awesome how you are using all the available resources to help with your childs autism. shows that you are really caring parents reminds me of mine when I was younger way to go mom & dad :) don't listen to any of the hate on here they are just mad to the point that they cannot buy one for themselves.

I'm not Autistic but I use an iPad at school for learning disability. They are actually a great tool in the learning environment!

honestly i don't blame him for feeling a tiny tiny bit disappointed that he didnt get an ipad. i mean if they didn't use the box i dont think he would've been unhappy at all, i think he saw the box and he was so excited about it but it turns out it wasnt what he thought it was

Although I don't like kids having iPads since six, I like kids being happy at Christmas, and I like how he says thank you for what he gets, I think all of us should learn from that child and from all children, apart from the little rich spoilt kids who cry when they don't get what they want

what the hell this kid is six years old and getting an ipad, he is still learning to write and spell. when i was six i used to get costumes and books and remote controlled cars and this kid gets an ipad, i can only dream of getting an ipad. This kid should be so grateful.

You know my younger (responsible) cousin really wanted a better phone so she could entertain little friends or siblings with it, also to help with her homework (they don't have a computer) and she finally got it... When she was fourteen. Seriously, get your damn kids board games or coloring books. And iPad won't really help.

My husband works VERY hard to take care of our family. Being a mom to my kids (both special needs) is my full time job. Santa brings 3 presents to each of my kids. The rest my husband and I get. SO NO....Santa is real...my kids just know that their DAD works hard.

she had an ipad first as she was nonverbal autistic. We used (as she has come a long way 2 yrs later) it as her communication device rather than fight the insurance company and it could take a yr to get it. The first time she used her ipad to tell me she wanted certain foods for Thanksgiving I CRIED.

This is adorable I would have been so angry at first but this kid managed to pull through till the end!!!

Im 13, dont have an ipod, ipad, or phone. But my parents bought me plane tickets to Rome, Italy, a train pas to Venice, and some sort of unlimited use of the water taxi card.

when i watch kids that gets present and throws a tantrum becuz they dont get what they want. i hate it. but this boy was so thankful for everything he got, he said hank you adn he was polite, so he deserved an ipad. even if they didnt get the ipad he would still be thankful and not throw a tantrum like actual spoiled kids.

You can tell that these kids are going to be spoiled. I didn't have a cellphone until the 6 grade. There was no reason for me to have one and I didn't want one. The same way a three year old doesn't need an expensive, advanced Ipad.

@TheAdoptedShayTard yes she has an iPad...she has PDD along with a speech delay...we use the app icommunicate to help with her speech. and thank you for the wonderful comment. Im glad I have it on video to show proof how well he handled it.
