What’s interesting about this medal ceremony is that you can see three sets of Olympic champions, as Bestiminova and Bukin would win in 1988, and Klimova and Ponomarenko would win in 1992.
Thank you for sharing this. It brought back floods of memories of when I saw this as it happened and I cried once again. To see Chris's emotion particularly during the British anthem was heart warming. They were so young as was I still and to know now all that has transpired since that day. The more videos I watch I cannot help thinking how sad that most of these clips are so fuzzy and poor quality due to the era. Now we have digital high definition to capture mediocrity for all time but some of the most magnificent performances and performers are either lost for all time or these sometimes hard to decipher copies the technology of the time. In fact I had mostly good quality VHS tapes of all their performances from 1980 to '84 although sometimes tele reception was not exceptional. Sadly all tapes were lost during the Earthquake of Jan. 1994 when I was temporarily living/ working with a colleague at Los Angeles. Betty Callaway a remarkable woman. She had the talent, instinct and sensibility to know when to teach, impart and how to leave them enough freedom to fly as high as possible. A dear woman not to be forgotten. Three humble and modest people. Chris and Jane still are which is a witness to what great people they are in the face of such extraordinary success and fame.
