According to undiscovered Scotland website there was a colliery about a mile away called quarter colliery in 1895 13 miners where killed there.in an explosion. They think it's a part of there workings.
@@williamglover3625 yes there were similar air vents in valleys of south wales. I recon it is one of them . They most probably sealed the tunnel up when the pit was closed. A lot of men boys , horses killed down under ground. Big pat of working class history in the uk. RIP to all the coal miners who lost their lives
