Album felt like a story or movie. I think Tory Lanez Is showing how he can do any style the top guys can do and more. I think he is just flexing on other artists when he "sounds" like them.
I've been a Tory Lanez fan since 2013. I remember going to a show in Atlanta in 2014 and literally only like 75 ppl were there and he rocked it out like it was sold out. The next year he had a sold out show and this year I can't wait to see his growth at his show in Sept. I have so much respect for him as an artist. And I'm so glad to see him finally get the acknowledgment he deserves. Big ups!

Tory shouldn't want the #1 spot. The reason why is because you CANNOT be a PURE hip hop artist and occupy the #1 spot anymore. You have to be a hybrid artist like Drake who practically lives in the gray area between traditional hip hop / r&b and modern pop / dance club music. Tory does not recognize that he is constantly putting himself in the same lane as Drake who is currently light years ahead of him. Tory is very talented and was able to build a buzz without much help. It bugs me to see him struggle needlessly. Tory just needs to seek his own lanes (no pun intended). Only then will people stop comparing him to other established artists. Right now there is no artist that can touch Drake in a beef. In a freestyle battle, now that's a dif story - Em, Kdot, Tory, a number of other artists would lyrically slit Drake's throat effortlessly. But as for commanding such a huge and diverse audience, currently Drake has that on lock. Tory needs to find a different way to build his brand. I like what he's doing musically, I just don't like where he's going strategically.

Ok there's a misunderstanding about what I meant by "hybrid artist." To me that is NOT synonymous with "multi-genre artist." Hybrid artist means nobody can tell what you are really doing, even though they like it. Sort of like a magician on stage. Drake has been all over the place lately. Is he an original artist? Does he even write his own work? We know what Tory is doing. Tim Duncan, New Toronto, pretty much all the Chix tapes and Argentina are all CLEARLY Tory Lanez original productions. I'm saying strategically he could emphasize that as his brand. But when he does stuff like drop Luv, which was a dope track, remember that it was released suspiciously after Drake dropped all these dancehall style songs. Tory is unquestionably a dope artist, I'm just saying he can do better by staying true to what has got him this far.

It depends on where you are looking at bro. Canada has super safe suburbs and shit for the most part but in southern Ontario or divisions of Vancouver and Windsor, there is mad drug trafficking and gang activity shit going on because of the distance to the border. But like any other country people are still out here getting fucked up for dumb shit and catching bodies over shit you might not even think is an issue. There are issues like any other place but its just handled a little bit better by communities not allowing certain things to escalate past a point.

You argument makes no sense. Bryson makes better songs and his incoparation of singing and rapping is at least two levels above Lanez. Lanez is a better singer and a better rapper but he is unable to reach the next level because his incoparation of both is not up to the level of say Tiller and Drake. Malik Monu Lanez is not a very good singer without autotune and his raps aren't that impressive to me. I mean I really want to like his raps songs but I prefer is more r&b oriented tracks. The whole trapsoul album I play on all the way through though. Tiller sounds better to me rapping and singing

Kendrick's GKMC which sparked the trend after he had so much success and critical acclaim from that album which was released super late 2012. And even before that S80 had elements of cinematics. Like skits which never left Hip Hop to begin with just featured more or less.
