I do agree with you about using microphones, but in Bregenz make sense, because the stage is on lake Konstanz and sure they don't have the accustic of Arena di Verona, or even Arena Pula (Croatia)
Wow, reading your quotes I only can imagine that you never had the chance to experience this fine artist live. i absolutely dont agree with you. In fact Nadja Michael has maybe the most powerful and big voice you can experience this times. The MET public gave her raving ovations. I saw and heard her twice - as MEDEA in Munich an last month as LADY MACBETH - without words, simply fab. And both publics cheered her enormously.
@Henrykbonk What is this microphone for? Could you explain to me? I saw it at the Medee in La Monnaie again with Michael. Is it for taping? For, to my 20-year-old knowledge of opera, opera is being performed without microphones of any kind (unless it is about a recital in an open place)
