Everything seems to arrive at once! Not only do I have the HV tuned DM01 to put on the bike for initial testing I also have the CYC Photon back from repairs. There is some design work to do to get the motor ready for mounting after which it will be time to see what this can do in the real world! I will post more regular information on testing on the Discord community so you are welcome to follow along there as well.

I appreciate your attempts of running both DM01 and DM02 with the ASI BAC controller but for many people an interesting thing would be how Toseven is dealing with the software updates for their stock controllers. Only a minority of users would run their motors with a third party controllers IMHO. DM01 + ASI BAC cost-wise is climbing into CYC Stealth and Pro territory.

but if it works more watts and performance than the stock CYC motors
@HighVoltageKits
@HighVoltageKits 8 месяцев назад
Yeah. Right now the focus is to get something really good as stock. The update process needs to be streamlined. It's no where near as slick as the CYC app is. You are right in terms of price. It's too early to say. The CYC motors also seem to break alot so if these are reliable at high power.... Its all speculation until its on the bike. If might only last five minutes.

So why they would buy in th first place. Just buy a hub or bosch and don't stick out.

Thanks much for this video, especially at the 34 second mark - now I finally see how Toseven is achieving the gearing reduction (two stages versus the one on the BBSHD). Now if they can finally figure out how to build and ship motors, into buying customers' hands - year-end, maybe?
@HighVoltageKits
@HighVoltageKits 8 месяцев назад
If you want one it can be direct arranged via the companies thread on Discord. Ask for Olekz. The first US dealer is West Coast Electric Bike. I think the network will grow soon. In terms of the BBSHD it's the same number of stages as the TOSEVEN it's just different tooth counts.

Thanks for the Discord reminder @@HighVoltageKits - I need to "try again" to establish skills in using it. Looking at the image of the DM01 motor at 0:34, it really looks like a double stack - I guess that's not the case however. Regarding the CYC (I have two) it is really nice to ride "down low" speed-wise, which I've done with a Bosch owner, down around 10-15mph, and still have refined assist.

Just a note in regard to quality control of CYC motors. I know of 2 motor recent purchases, your's and a buddy's. In both cases the motor developed a fault and had to be returned. I wonder how typical this is..

I will be going over that in the video which will likely be Sunday

It’s to cold here in Canada at this point so I probably won’t be using it much for the rest of the year. I will definitely keep up with that channel and give my feedback with the CYC photon also. Definitely wanna put the thing through it’s paces. So far it’s been a fun motor but definitely sceptical about longevity.
@larrym2434
@larrym2434 8 месяцев назад
I have had a hard time with my CYC photon. In order to troubleshoot the motor, I have had to buy various cables and a big solder gun, and I am going to learn to solder, so that I can remove all other possible causes of failure besides the motor. My 2 bits of advice are (a) don't buy a CYC motor, and (b) if you're really stuck on buying their motor, buying from a seller in your own country with a very clear warranty policy. I'm going to post this again in the upcoming CYC video, because people really need to understand how unreliable the CYC Photons are.

@@larrym2434 Just curious. Did you use throttle? How much power did you use for assist? 250W or way more?
@larrym2434
@larrym2434 8 месяцев назад
@@ataksnajpera 95% of the time I used pedal assist, not throttle. And generally I would use power between 250-750 watts. In race mode, you can access a little more than 1,000 watts power, I believe.

I passed on quite a bit of feedback including this. They seem pretty responsive to input although I was not given any kind of timescale.

Any updates on this? Has there been any recent testing done with the DM01 in regards to torque sensor nuance vs cyc and compatibility with bac855? Is ToSeven making any efforts to improve their software?

I’ll try and slot in a general update. The stock ts has been improving of late on the DM01 / 02 but we have not been able to get it to work with the ASI yet.

I'm not going to use the Flipsky they tend to break. Plus I have access to all the ASI stuff already. There is a reason why they are $100. There is a guy on discord running 60 volts on the DM01

Hello, please tell me how many RPM without load will the Bafang Bbshd have with a 48 Volt 14 Ampere battery with this Asi bac 855 controller?
@HighVoltageKits
@HighVoltageKits 5 месяцев назад
Never ran with a 48 volt on an ASI as the BMS on those are generally not enough. You are looking at 9000 ish unloaded max rpm at 40% field weakening.

How does the stock DM02 compare to The TSDZ2B?
@HighVoltageKits
@HighVoltageKits 8 месяцев назад
I have not ridden a TSDZ2B so I cannot speak personally. I never wanted to because of all the issues with heat. There are people on our discord who have run both though and have posted about their experiences. From what I gather it is a superior motor in terms of being able to manage heat as the motor core is pressed into the casing allowing for direct heat transfer. There are a few other differences as well which I look at in this video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0N_X0pQhWjk.html
