This is way more work than I expected. I'm just going to buy another TV, and never buy a pos Toshiba for the rest of my life. My TV is only a year and half old ffs, and the backlights burned out out of nowhere. I went to the bathroom, took a piss, came back and the screen was black, but I could just barely faintly see what was playing on the screen and it still had sound. Thanks for taking the time to make the video, but this just isn't for me.

I just replaced the leds on my toshiba and some of the connections from the address board broke, is there any way to fix them or did i just break my tv further?

I have a Vizo E470I-A0 and the screen is black, no sound, and no backlight, but the backlight and screen does blink once every time i power it on

I have this same TV that's developed a blue tinge despite setting color temp to warm, replacing the power supply board, powercycling, factory restting, etc. I'm guessing an LED replacement is in my future if I want to keep this TV and bring it back to former glory. However, how long do you think before I run into this same blue tint issue again? By the time I pay for suction cups and LED strips for this, I'm halfway to the cost of a new comparable TV.

Update: Bought the LED strips and replaced them and sure enough my blue tint issue has gone. Thank you.

So this is how I fix the problem of the TV not turning on at all? As in the power light never comes on and the TV is completely unresponsive? Just replace the LED strips and it will be as good as new?

i have this tv, the red power light flashes after plugging it back in then the lights go off thats it, nothing else

I have a 65 toshiba tv 1 year old and black screen never buy toshiba and never buy from best buy, heard lots of bad stuff comes from best buy. After all that work and buying led strips you put it all back together to find out it still has a black dark screen. tv companies like toshiba should be sued for robbing people

Same happened to me I bought a 5yr warranty & Tv went out within 4 months they tell me "oh this happens to 1 out of 200 tvs" give me a replacement use my 5yr warranty(not telling me I could have kept my 5yr & used the 1 year manufacturer warranty) that tv backlight went out just over a year 🤦

Why would all of them fail at the same time? If you have a black screen this is the last resort. Use your multi-meter to check obvious or replace burnt components like capacitors, fuses.

They don't all fail, usually just one of them does (often a single LED) and the whole system stops working (likely a specific . That said, replacing a single LED is not realistic for most people (they're fairly specific LEDs) but if you have the ability to source them then by all means go for it, the only concern is that we don't know why the LED died in the first place; if it was something to do with the strip or the other LEDs in the array the single-LED fix might not be as long-lasting.

Its a planned obsolescence issue im using our first ever flat screen thats probably getting on for 15 years old because the 55inch uhd 'smart' toshiba expired as soon as the warranty did. Just fucking bullshit ey
