I agree. He had such a strong personality and will! If you want to watch other great scenes, take a look at my videos about his collaboration with directors Inagaki, Taniguchi and Okamoto and the video about "Animas Trujano", his mexican movie, one of his best roles.

Thank you very much! My contribution is modest, I'm not a professional but I think it's important to remember this man, who was truly exceptional and did so much for acting and cinema in general.

Thank you! Yes, he was gorgeous. The thumbnail is from "Snow trail", his first movie in a leading role, in 1947. He was very thin at the time, because of restrictions. If you want to see a young and very charming Mifune Toshiro, take a look at my video about his collaboration with Taniguchi Senkichi (who made "Snow trail" and worked a lot with Mifune Toshiro in late 40's and all the 50's).

Dunno, I have not commented on this one? I wonder. Anyway, the Toshiro Mifune facebook page directs us all here, well done. So, I watched this montage again, my friend. I find it that I can never have enough of seeing the expressions of Mifune san's face. I can never have enough of seeing him move, fight, run, ride. Thank you.

Thank you very much! If you want to watch more, I recommend my videos about Toshiro Mifune's work with directors Inagaki, Taniguchi? Kurosawa and Okamoto (this last one being maybe my best video especially after 3 minutes and until the end), also the video about "Animas Trujano", his mexican movie, and the two trailers for "Hell in the Pacific and "Throne of blood". Those 7 videos are my best editing works, by far.

Thank you for your comment. You can find other videos about this great actor on my channel. The last of the cycle for the 100th anniversary of his birth will be online on Sunday. It will be longer (14 mn) than the others. You will see how Toshiro Mifune was sometimes acting without words, only with his eyes and body. He was a master. I don't know any other actor who can do that with so much intensity and talent.

My first encounter with him was in seven samurai...at first he seemed kind of a dumbshit....but as the movie progressed I found him as the most charming character in the movie

Yes, he was very special. He was unique. Hard working, and so talented too. He influenced a lot of modern actors, like Daniel Day-Lewis or Christian Bale. It is sad that he's forgotten today.

"Snow trail", Senkichi Taniguchi, 1947. Screenplay: Akira Kurosawa. This is Toshiro Mifune's first movie. A very interesting movie, with the great actor, Takashi Shimura. I'm actually working on the movie lists for each video.

I agree. It is sad to see that his memory is fading, many young Japanese not knowing him at all. He was maybe the greatest actor ever and invented/created many ways used by great actors nowadays.
