That's an interesting lock. So the question running through my head is... what is your opinion of the security overall of these as well S the U9s? I've seen some weird stuff come out of China & Japan but most is assembled once in factory. Looks to be really not a locksmith friendly lock. Congrats on getting the open on camera too😎
Thanks, man! In terms of resistance to non-destructive attack, these are pretty solid, from what I can tell. The mechanism is both complicated and simple at the same time -- if the wafers aren't aligned with the sidebar, it's not gonna open. All of the complicated assembly in this lock is peripheral to that fact, and will not compromise its security. I'm sure someone smarter than me might be able to figure out some sort of decoding attack, but given that it has so many false gates and serrations and no bitting-related change to the movement boundaries of the wafers, I can't think of anything that would work reliably. In terms of physical security, I'm not entirely sure, because I don't know what sort of drill resistance this lock has. I doubt you'd have much luck torquing it open, though. Great pick-resistance, though. At least against me. It took forever. Same goes for the U9.
