Glad it was helpful! Hopefully it works out for you. Since making the video I have learned that there are different number of monsters in each Epic Squad. So make sure to insulate your Mercs beyond the number of Monsters. For Arachne it is 8. I believe I said 3 in my video. Always something to learn in this game! Thank you for watching and commenting. A little note for you, you can’t use reinforcements on Epics, and you can have better results if you go to the Arachne wen it’s stacks already die and it has 6 or less
I have tried your example, and I tried stacking them from low to high guards' level together with high to low health level, but I received quite a lot more points by stacking them from lower guards to higher guards with the mercenaries at the end.
@Jim8457, thanks for sharing. I think it becomes a bit of a crapshoot depending on which of the 8 Arachne Squads strike and which of your troops they take out. Definitely the longer your strong troops last, the more points you will get. Appreciate you watching and sharing your results
quick sidenote that was brought to my attention. the reason why i claimed it was just 3 attacks then all your units attack at once, was because i didnt do my testing on arachnee. arachnee has 8 units, so you trade blows unit per unit until one of you runs out of units, then you attack with the rest. i didnt know this because i dont do arachnee, i mostly do doomsday and rise of the ancient because it brings in more valor, they also only have 4 units. So check the amount of units the epic has. in this case the results would had been the same since it was arachnee event, but if it was done on say doomsday event, it would had generated more valor and exp!

What would be your advice to play this game smartly: as in not spending real money and spend least time to lvl up captains and retrain troops? I buy the cheapest deal for construction. But still trying not to attack other players cities. But then I fail to gain much CP. Now I only revive captains and those contract merchanaries. But retraining troops may take days. Struggling to speed up for events
Hi @lexc8714. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂. Probably the best piece of advice I could give you is to search for a clan with a HIGH might. Reach out to one of the Superiors and see if you can join. They will teach you the game and you will receive A LOT of daily rewards, bonuses, resources, speed up’s! For Valor I like Arachne best for small players because you can take all 3 captains. your high ranking captain and bring lower captains to rank them up. This increases your might and overall strength. CP is hard to come by. This is another piece where a large clan helps. During Clash of Throne you can send your army to be a reinforcement of one of your large clan mates and gain CP that way. I have collected nearly 3B CP over the past 2 months this way. I don't understand. How are you controlling who attacks first and in that order? I don't know what you mean by "hit points" and "health points." I don't know where these numbers are coming from other than the obvious troop number.
Hi @trueLuminus, if you click on the troop ie Guardsmen 1, the game will show you their attributes; strength/health. Multiply the health by the number of troops to get Total Health points. The group of troops with the highest HP total will be your first attacking troops. Then the next highest and so on. The goal is to have your strongest troops (highest level), monsters, and Mercs, not strike until after the first wave of monster. Arachne had 8 monster squads so you want your first 8 layers to be your weakest troops; Guardsman/Specialists I & II
Watch this video. At 45 seconds I start clicking on the monster squads. You can see their strength and health points as well as which type of your troops they have extra strength against. You can find the same info by clicking on your troops. How would you stack if you were a Total Battle beginner? Let's say, you only have level I and II guardsmen. And the same mercenaries as in the video. Where would you put your mercenaries?
Total beginner will be tougher. You probably would not want to play against the Swarm as they have 8 groups for attack. Try Doomsday which I believe only has 3. Same strategy you would need to figure out how much might you can take, then calculate according making sure your Mercs are 4th in strength. I have another video where I only attack with a low level captain, mercs, and level 1 troops. Go through my TB playlist. It’s one of the first videos

Arachne is a horrible event and I don't even waste my time with it because the VP is trash compared to Ancients. I only build stacks for the ancients because I'll take an Epic that starts with 4 stacks all the way down to 2 with a 60% bonus on VP and EXP all day and only prep for it
@@JackHammerJoe if you need to then go ahead but it's still a horrible event based on the stacks the epic has and the fact that it has mercs that have a boost strictly for the event is trash. I'm in a large clan that puts the Ancients as number one priority with a requirement of points based on Guardsmen level and a silver penalty paid for no participation
Yes we too prioritize the Ancients event with strategies of which troops to send based on level. It’s the best for acquiring clan chests. I believe each player that participates can open up to 15 chests for the clan.
You have maybe 8% decent info here and 92% utter crap. Please dont provide advice when you dont actually have a handle on true game mechanics yourself. You create countless amounts of frustrations for other players who either have to help correct the misinformation you provide, or for those wondering why they just aren't growing. Yep no re-edit required. It’s a simple hey this doesn’t work. I’ve free played this entire game and grown to 16m might in 7 months. Players have skyrocketed since the start of my channel after failing to grow at all. Not all of us want to pay to play and preach our superiority. The community here is obviously not for you and that’s fine. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and helping this channel.
Not too bad. you brought in health for your discussion. Now look at the cost of silver and time for training squads/layers of equal health for a guardsman level, and the one below it. You will find that the lower level squad/layer costs more to train. This is why I recommend changing your attacks so that the highest level of guardsmen attack first. You will get more for your silver/time. The way the order of the battle is determined: the squad with the most strength of the side which has the strike, will hit the squad with the most health of their opponent. All research, talent, and hero, captain, equipment, artifact bonuses that are sent are used.
I will try this in a new video and see how it plays out. Thank you. I end up just deleting the low level troops. I only revive them if I’m making a video. I try to gear these videos more toward newer players players with not a lot of resources
Attacking with the highest level of guardsmen doesn't make sense. You will lose more of them in the first strike from the Epic monster and leave fewer strikes of them, read fewer kills, later on. Also, with an attack at the Arachne Swarm, you will lose all your troops anyway, whether you start with higher-level troops or lower. You will have to revive them all.
Thanks for commenting. I appreciate the dialogue. Someone also shared with me that they prefer waiting until near the end of Arachne because some of the squads have been killed off. Instead of 8 squads, there may only be 5 or 6 squads remaining which means you don’t trade as many strikes back and forth before the random “run/string” of attacks happens

Yes it is complicated. Most of the time I just send my troops to their slaughter. People were trolling me for not understanding the mechanics of the game, so I put this together to show the strategic way to attack to optimize. It is time consuming and honestly I have only done it when I make the videos. Appreciate you watching and leaving a comment. :)

I think most of the time, for regular monsters, it wouldn't matter much but like you said, when throwing your troops into the meatgrinder it is best to optimize the attack strategy. If they are going into the Netherworld, never to return then best to get the most out of them right? Great strategy guide 😃

How does anyone spend ZERO money on this? I don't see how that's possible. Someone attacked me right after I crushed someone else's' city, right after someone attacked my city through a portal. There was no way to recover without spending $5. Otherwise, i would've had to wait days, if not weeks to rebuild and retaliate. I'm in a clan of pirates, but a clan nonetheless.
Hi @trueLuminus, I haven’t spent a single penny on this game. When I was very small it was a tragedy when I was attacked. You are right, you can’t do anything but wait to rebuild resources. After about 3 months of playing I joined a very active and large clan. I started getting 5 to 600 clan chests per day as gifts and was able to stock pile resources. I can build 10s of thousands of troops in minutes with my silver and speed ups. When they die in battle I just kill them off. I’ve also been able to save 700k in gold the past 3 months. Trying to get to 1M for a new Hero. I’ve learned the pirate life is fun but the way to grow is in a clan that is actively participating in the TB events amassing clan chests and rewards.
When someone attacks your village it only takes silver to revive . How did you have to spend $5.00? You grow when you join clans . I went from 212000 to 500000 in one Ragnarok. Now I'm almost at 2M because of my clan and participation in big events.
@@theylive8200 Silver is easier to come by than gold, but it still takes FOREVER. Raiding a village for about $800K takes something like 10 hours. I haven't even reached 1M power yet and I play every single day in a clan that's active. Maybe people in your clan are purchasing stuff all the time, giving you lots of gifts and thus allowing to level up very quickly. That's not the same experience for everyone.
