If Total Carnage was part of the Mortal Kombat world, this would also mean that General Akhboob (who's been voiced by Ed Boom) is sitting in The NetherRealm, waiting to be tormented.
One of the most underrated arcade games of all time. The campaign lasts over an hour, which is unheard of for an arcade game, and not a single second of it is boring. A lot of love went into this one.
Hurrgh, okay. Hats off to you Shadowserg, for completing this game. Honestly though, I'm kind of shocked in several ways. Just two bosses? And you literally have to slowly tear them into bloody gibblets, way beyond the point where they are technically dead. And a torture minigame at the end??? Fffuuuccckk, sick minds at Midway back then.
I honestly think those jumping purple guys were the purple friend now that I think back on it. I was always curious too who the purple friend was but it seems like maybe that's who it was supposed to be.
You forgot that bullet hells have a small hitbox for the characters. Also Touhou is more about getting a rhythm and a pace. You should check Cave's bullet hells, especially their TLBs.
Edit: 13:25 It looks like you step on that landmine a few times and don't die.. don't know if it's wonky hitbox or if you got super lucky or if you actually have God mode on.. Seems like there's a couple instances where those mini missiles on the final boss fight go through the character a few times. I always wondered as a kid if the bosses were beatable in this game without dying once. Now I know. I wish this game had more epic boss battles. Man, you got REALLY close to getting hit by Orcus a couple of times, nice fights! I still love how stupid bloody and gorey this game is. I miss the ridiculous blood and gore in games from the 90's, that spawned games like Mortal Kombat, etc. Games like Revolution X and Total Carnage and MK shaped me as a kid, lol. My one big gripe with this game is how short the weapon power ups last. You not getting hit by the final boss is impressive, this game was basically designed to suck up your quarters in the Arcade. I could never even make it to the final boss in Arcades because of how hard the game was. I've always wondered is the final boss actually speaking a language or is it just gibberish? Most arcade games back then you could never understand what was being said because of how loud those places were.
Leondrius it's the spiritual successor, though it added scrolling levels as opposed to the locked down arenas of Smash TV. Total Carnage is fun, but it doesn't quite capture the magic of Smash TV to me.
Gosh, Orcus would feel light-headed and would eventually die of mass blood-loss after getting shot that many times but nope, he still kept going at it until you finally blew him to bits.
Hello Shadowserg! Long time i am not seeing your videos. What a perfection to play this super mad show without dying/hit! Also i want to suggest you to play Smash TV/Super Smash TV on nes/snes - it's the same game but are its sequel. Harder or not i don't know - but trust me it gonna be fun to play it.
On The Final Boss Giant Robotic Heads Appearings: Phase 1.- General Akhboob's Head Phase 2.- Hitler's Head Last Phase.- Red Demon's Head Cons on Super Nintendo Version: -The Demon's Head is Changed to Green Color. -In Super Nintendo Version Does Not Appear The Hitler's Head.
Lain Hikaru Yep, I don’t think the flying vehicle boss was even taking damage until the level finally scrolls to the top. This game was designed to eat your quarters and it did, to the point where players gave up because it was so ridiculous. It was still pretty fun though...:))
Even for its time, this game is ruthless. Every limb and piece of each boss has enough health to be its own mini-boss at the very least, and you have to tear them from the boss bit by bit. I can’t imagine how long it must have taken you to do this.
Now that Saddam Hussein is long gone (December 2006) Midway could have reshaped the sprite and design of General Akhboob as the former dictator of Iraq. That would be cool, as an uncensored version of Saddam Hussein as the villain of this game!😁
It's weird this game didn't even get an Xbox Live port or modern port or anything. It was put on Midway Arcade discs but it's never had a Steam release.
Just under five minutes to kill the first boss. And even longer to kill the second. Yeesh. Plus, regarding Ahkboob, AVGN said it best: “How many forms does this asshole have?!”
