@@hunter_pauley Thanks for the sub man, Xtrusion overland just came out with the XO Skeleton camper and I will be getting a test unit to test out when they are ready to deliver, I think they were benchmarking GFC and superpacifica in terms of trying to solve some of their shortcomings.

Thanks for the transparent video. Just purchased a 2016 Tacoma with 38,000 miles and have been researching the overland community. You are the first one to paint a true picture of what it would cost to get to where you are with your build.

Of course! I think we all get really ambitious with doing a massive build out....but then we start to realize how much all of this stuff will cost. No regrets though and the truck has taken me to places I would have never imagined!

I wish I could have gotten a Cement Tacoma. I just picked up (27Jan2024) a black 2023 Tacoma TRD OR base Access Cab. The first major purchase I am going to get is the Cali Raised OffRoad 0° sliders ($1399+ HI tax). I got the Goodyear Territory AT’s stock so I’m probably not going to lift it for a while. My 2022 Lunar Rock T4R TRD Off Road Premium I had in Oct 2021 the first mod was a set of 5° RSG sliders and Baja Designs SAE amber fogs.

Love your setup. I’ve got the same truck but a year newer and just starting my build. I too have installed the Deaver stage 3 and am afraid that they may be overkill for my build. Did you do any mods to your leaf-pack such as remove any leaves? I thought I heard you say something about that. Also, did you have to do the cab mount chop or anything else to make room for the 34” tires? Thanks!

Thanks for the comment!!! Deaver stage 3 is currently overkill for my build and as it sits. I was looking at going alucab for a bit but that might now happen. The ride does rear stuff for sure but I also love the look of having the rake in the rear. I might have to remove a leaf or two though. I do have a CMC and the SPCs are maxed out for caster. I only rub on plastic now when full tucked or turning while flexing pretty hard. It’s honestly the best size tire imo and doesn’t require the headache that 35s do.

How did you attach the deluth organizer to your rear window? Did you keep the bar inside? Looks to be A great fit

Used a gromment kit and the stock mounting spots in the back. Removed the bar from the organizer.

Absolutely. I think people get into overlanding/off roading with big ambitions to do similar builds before knowing the exact costs. Of course one does not have to go all out like I did, but gives a good idea of what it could possibly cost. Thanks for watching!

Glad you found it helpful! I am still on stock gears. Only thing I have currently is the OTT tune. No real difference of jumping from 33s to 34s.

With the 3 inch lift in the front and 1.5 inch lift in the rear the truck without any weight should be pretty level but with the GFC on the back all the time and other permanent bed weight you have do you find it sinks the rear out too much and wish you lifted the rear more?

I have way more than 1.5 inches in the rear with the stage 3 Deaver. Don’t have the GFC anymore but even with the super pacific I still have rake. The Deaver stage 3 is certainly overkill for what I have in the back now but my old old previous setup was much heavier.

The OTT tune really has helped. I have been hesitant on regearing to 5.29s just because I’ve heard mixed things AND it’s a hefty cost. I’d recommend a tune first and see how it drives but for me, it really changed the way the truck feels!

Thanks, dude, now I have an idea. Next year, I plan to buy the legendary tacoma model ever made by toyota. The fourth gen. is a new platform, which is awesome but the most expensive tacoma build!
