Honestly i think they initially wanted that to be the case because DJ pretty much always refers to his Mom in past tense. Shes even shown in Heaven during action. Im guessing what happened is either the writers or fans felt too bad for DJ so they had to actually show her alive.

I love Courtney’s tape the best. You get to see her two personalities perfectly: a very sweet, hard working student and a hot headed competitor who won’t let anyone get in the way of her victory.
@@softvoicedboyfriend4031 Courtney's always been like that. She just went a bit more crazy when Duncan was involved. Tbh I like Courtney the best out of all the characters. She's not a very nice person but she always has her eyes on the prize which I respect.
i love the two izzy tapes. it shows how she came up with a better plan for total drama instead of just being her usual self and putting on a crazy-girl act sort of.
most of the time she wasn't really eliminated, she found a way out and then came back with an excuse so her original elimination would not count. like how she said kaleidoscope got eliminated and izzy did not. along with the one where she was chased out of the competition by the police.
That's why I think the izzy isn't crazy theory works so well. She was very smart throughout the whole show. Yeah, maybe she was a little psycho but she was also really, really smart

I feel bad for zeke. He probably wanted to win total drama so he could use the money to make his family better (and pay for his mom's doctor bills) but he ends up getting voted off first and turn feral. He's just the punching bag for the writers.
I love Ezekiel and genuinely believe that he could have become a better person, but I'm also 100% sure he would have just spent it on becoming a glorified SoundCloud rapper
The best thing about Scott's audition tape is that his father isn't even mad at him destroying the house, so that's probably how he actually taught him to kill rats.

All of the audition tapes were released along side the episode in which that camper was eliminated, which is why Owen, Gwen, Skye, and Shawn don't have tapes, as none of them were voted out. Cameron and Lightning have their tapes shown during the confessional. Alejandro and Sierra get picked for the show, and dont audition. This also shows why some contestants hint at their fate, such as Dakota and Zoey, and why Mr. Coconut and the second Izzy audition tape exist.
Shai Dreamcast, well, in the TDWT song ‘Oui, my friend’, Sierra had sung lyrics that said something like “If you audition for a show and get rejected and then audition again and get rejected, and then audition again and finally get on the show.”, so she probably auditioned.
Owen was eliminated during TDA I believe. When the contestants voted for Courtney who had invincibility, Owen was the only vote that counted, so he was booted. He later came back onto the show as a saboteur but was booted again for being caught.
Shai Dreamcast actually Sierra auditioned, in a song she sings on TDWT she says and audition to get on the show and the audition again, the song wee my friend
Looking at ezekiel in this tape makes me cry, just because of his eventual mutation, I can imagine his parents being so happy that hes onto total drama just for him to die, in the form of a zombie.
I love how Dakotas hints at her being a mutant in a very ironic way. Also very ironic that zoey says her worst nightmare would be to be voted off to a jock and then lightning ends up giving her the boot. One more thing, in Scarlett’s audition she has a globe in the back and with knives in it.

Okay, but notice how Katie and Sadie's first audition video focused on Katie more(she was voted off first) and their second audition tape focused on Sadie. AND Izzy had two auditions because she was voted off TWICE. All of these were intentional. The writers were geniuses.

I like how a majority of the contestants that were featured in TDI but were eliminated early were brought back later for TDWT and greatly expanded upon, such as Noah, Cody, etc.
It seems that the finalists of their debut seasons don’t have audition tapes (except Cameron and Lightning. But their tapes are just recycled versions of their first confession tapes)
Yeah, that is weird. Owen, Gwen, Shawn and Sky didn’t have audition tapes, and Lightning and Cameron’s were just re-used confessionals. Wonder why they did that
my theory is that they somehow accidentally gave the original script for Beth's tape to Izzy. which means that Izzy ended up with two tapes and they just duplicated Cody's tape for Beth. Just watch Izzy's first tape and imagine Beth in the role... just makes too much sense
I gotta admire that they went through the effort to make audition tapes for the revenge and pahkitew cast. These seasons were made on a much smaller budget. Only 13 episodes and they couldn't even make a special between the seasons. It's cool how they still included these bonus tapes

It's cool that you get to see each character's personalities after they get eliminated. It's like when the developers of your favourite game make a new game, but it's really bad, and has nothing to do with your favourite one, but then you find out your favourite game actually has a full-on lore and secret backstory, and then it's getting 5 different remade versions but all the characters are your from your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th favourite game, and turns out there's now merch from all of those 6 games.
I noticed that Mike(Mal) has the photo of a ballerina framed on his room the same as Beth's room but his has a 1st place ribbon attached to it. I wonder if they went to the same ballet school, contest or something.
