Total solar eclipse earthshine from August - for the non-believers 

OK, what flat earth failure made reference to this video. It's been posted for years and now suddenly a number of you zeroes are commenting on it again. There is nothing fraudulent about it. I was there and took the photos myself. We'll have another chance in 2024 in the U.S., the camera tech will be even better, and the denials will be even more desperate.

Wrong. In the middle of the year 2023, there is a solar eclipse in Indonesia. During this time, Rukyatul Hilal is practiced for observing the New Moon to determine the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. The Hilal is observed at a 2° elevation during sunset after the eclipse. Additionally, it's a fact that the moon is not far from the sun when the eclipse occurs

You obviously have no brain. The path and position of the moon can be calculated exactly, and it's right where it's supposed to be. Every time. It doesn't take a day off during an eclipse. It can't. Where the F else would it be?

Yeah, the sun peeking through the valleys and mountains just a few seconds before totality. I managed to sort of get it in the photo at 4:42 of the eclipse vid. It's OK though, you'll have another chance in 2024 in the U.S., the camera tech will be even better, and the denials will be even more desperate.

Why not do it and post it then? We can compare the two. It'll only take you a minute after all...

Flat earthers, who for some reason seem to have re-discovered this years-old video refuse to believe the moon is what causes a total solar eclipse. This is just boosting the dark portion of the image to show that it really is the moon. The same earthshine you can see when the moon is a sliver crescent is visible here too, just obliterated by the bright glare of the corona.

From a raw file straight off the camera? Sure, whatever. There are hundreds of similar examples, and many better shots of it than mine. Unless I deliberately did a bad job to try making it seem more convincing... There's no bottom to the well of desperation from the deniers out there.

So what flattard channel or livestream mentioned this 3½ year old video? There's suddenly a plague of you showing up here whining about it. And if it's "fake", how did I manage it when I'm simply adjusting the levels on the raw camera file?

There is a new moon coming in a few days. Why not replicate the result yourself?

And yet the moon is literally right there in the predicted position, moving along the predicted line seen one day before and seen again one day later on the opposite side of the sun.

@@JohnMichaelson According to the theory that the moon causes solar eclipses by coming in front of the sun and according to the understanding of modern science the earth is 4 times larger than the moon [which is much more than four times the surface area to reflect light], it reflects more than 70% of the light that hits it. At the time of the solar eclipse the earth-moon-sun are lined up. The moon is experiencing a ‘full earth’, so the maximum possible earthshine is illuminating the face of the moon. So at the time of the solar eclipse, according to the theory of the modern scientists, the face of the moon must be illuminated by the earthshine during the total solar eclipse. If it is not, if it is dark, then the theory that solar eclipses are caused by the moon coming in front of the sun is wrong. So I am just suggesting that people take advantage of the coming total solar eclipse in the USA to test the theory of the modern scientists. If the sun goes dark then their theory is false. If you can clearly see the moon illuminated by the earthshine then their theory is still in agreement with the observations. So if it is dark, then this theory that the solar eclipses are caused by the moon coming in front of the sun has to be discarded and we need to look for a new theory
