I haven't played Total War since Medieval Total War 2 and just bought this, watched while downloading. Great video, can't wait to get into it again, looks awesome.

+André Silva Same here André! :D I was played Medieval 2, which i love the most on the total war series. Then i tryied R2 but it didnt catch me. And yesterday i bought Attila + DLCs (btw theese DLC tactics which should take more money from us is really bad) and total war games go trough a lot of changes so im looking for some basics tutoal about armies, diplomacy trade etc.
This video is seven years but THANK YOU for puttimg the series playlist in the desvription so i didnt have to sift through six years of videos. My god thank you its the little things.
Glad you're finding it helpful. Just keep in mind as you watch it that this whole series was made shortly after the game first came out, so some of the info may be out of date now. =)

+Enyo Bellona The Total War franchise is one of my all-time favorites, and it's a game that has incredible amounts of depth to it. If you're looking for more help than this tutorial series gives you (I did end up cutting it short), I recommend checking out Lionheartx10, Heir of Carthage, and Prince of Macedon as well. I learned a lot from watching them when I was trying to become a better player. =)
I've played the first Rome Total War, Medieval 1 and 2 and Empire Total War, but coming into this game has kind of left me up a certain creek without a paddle. I really need this tutorial to work for me! LoL
Like I'm playing as Eastern Rome and my men just flee, full banners just flee halfway through a fight, even if they are winning, pisses me right off, anyone know why they just flee?
because their morale is broken. There are many different morale modifiers. Common factors that decrease moral is having generals killed, suffering casualty, seeing friendly units flee...ect. Total war is not a simplified RTS game where every unit will die fighting to the last man.
Yeah I know I've put a lot of hours into the TW franchise. I just don't understand the battle is in my favor my general is still alive there is no negative effect icon to show my units morale drop they just flee. It was very irritating. I started over and haven't had the problem since.
I know this is a tutorial series and all but is there anyway that u could put an annotation next vid tellin where the gameplay starts. Like i mean at what time. Great vid and this game looks very interesting ive actually never hear of it. Have u ever played the civilization series? Its alot like this
Yeah. Civ 5's combat is good, but it is a bit wonky. I really want this game but of course I want a lot of games like Subnautica, Skyrim, Attila, Euro Truck Simulator, ethtc. So if I ever get the chance to buy it, I will. But right now I'm going to stick with Civ 5. I'm going to keep watching the series though!
+Menoth Games Hmmmmmm. Idk about that. I'd personally say Shogun 2 is the best with Medieval 2 coming in a close second, but obviously that's just my own opinion. =)
Yeah, well the main reason I find medieval 2 to be the best, (partly biased being my first total war) is how user friendly it feels to me, and the medieval time period is my favorite time period as well :) I'm ok with the newer battles but I still need help with the campaigns, which is why I'm here :)
I'm just curious, what makes you say Shogun 2 is the best? I just bought it on sale and I'm ejoying it so far, but the different factions don't seem to have enough diversity for me to say it's better than Rome or Empire. Thanks for the Attila tutorial by the way, coming from Rome and Empire, Attila confused the hell out of me when I first started it.

If you don't find what you're looking for, I"d recommend checking out Heir of Carthage, Lionheartx10, or some other RU-vidrs who focus more heavily on Total War.

+Alexandras Vulfgang If I remember correctly, there's a whole video dedicated specifically to politics. For the battle mechanics and tactics you may have to look elsewhere, unfortunately.
