I enjoy the videos Heir, always have. It would be nice to see some of the older games though just for a change of pace. I imagine most people who watch your videos are playing the current game while you are doing campaigns for the current game so something older would be nice :)
Well played Heir. You came close. Like you said, if your inf was closer to your cav line, then you would've done a lot better. A lot to micro though, especially with those horse archers behind enemy lines :)
I just wanted to say you may have noticed the lack of a kill count or at least it being late I want to tell you all the kill count for all campaigns will be posted in the newest episodes with in the next 24 hours.
I like seeing some old stuff with the new, I've got most of these Total War games, some which i've barely played, others I've let's be honest played too much. It's nice seeing a variety.
The spaghetti lines have always annoyed me in total war games, so here is an idea: The further you draw out a unit the lower the moral gets as there is nobody to fall back to. Additionally the unit becomes slower as it gets harder to keep up a koherent line. What do you think?
admiral ackbar It's good to see it punished in these cases, true. But still it doesn't seem to stop people from using it, really. Especially not in Inf on Inf engagements.
Heir, when you went after his archers near the end you missed a great opportunity to hit his general instead. Probably would've turned the battle around.
Rome 1 will always be my favourite and I didn't really play rome 2 much, but I'm pretty happy with Attila. I don't play multiplayer on the new total wars, but enjoy the singleplayers... I just wish Rome 1 had more people, nothing beats that time. atleast for me anyway. Anyway, Attila is the most fun I've had with a new game for a while
i'm so happy, you are not a general of my ancestors :D We fight with cruel tactics and use mobility to pick situtations benefical to us. You where playing like a roman, which nationality are you from? By the way always kill real threats first, never use foot soldiers only for lure our a place to return to if you could pull out some light cavalery chasing you. Always try to charge into foot archers skirmish range, so you can keep them running around while you can shot their protection less body. (foot soldiers are excelent to ditract archer fire from your horse archers) Light cavalry is the second threat if they start to chase you, then split up see which is following which and with the other one try to navigate on thier right side where they not having shield bonus. (same for heavy cavalery but its not that risky) For foot soldiers simply make a circle and only shot if you have clear shots on their back or right side. Use only max damage arrow types as you will only make shots on unprotected sides. If enemy staying in spagetty line always shot htem from flank side, so you cover more. Flanking is a 3 to 1 to the sides, so always flank more on the left as you can shot the sword side and with the 1 of 4 you should go for the backs, dont shot on their shields.. also enemy will se an opportunity to attack the weaker flank :D Always be one step further , give the illusion to the enemy to work their strategy and crush it! Good luck ,and if you have the possibility go and learn to be horse archer.
yld629 Actually this is very much based in reality. Horse Archers were mobile but an archer on foot could fire a bow with stronger draw weight because they are able to plant their feet and brace their whole body. The size and power of bows fired on foot are much higher than on horseback as you just simply can't get the same leverage.
yld629 +Ryan McAllen is right, also, even though compound bows are powerful, they had to remain small enough to maneuver around the horse, so they couldnt get to full size, unlike foot archers
its not worth watching if the players make NOOBISH mistakes like zero micro or sending in the wrong units or whatever. 5:05. I can see this zero micro, sending wrong units to attack. Uar warriors should be charge en masse horde one single unit for example godans men, they you wait for more enemy infantry to join the fray, thats when you ride with 400 talent steppe lancers and wait for opportunity, moubted bows will pepper the germanic horsemen, u can keep kiting with steppe lancers as long as you micro them away from heavy horses
