it should be the case but they have started with the main 3 who had to deal with sea people's invasions .the greeks were already destroyed or about to fall and join the sea peoples . as of assyria and babylon they have to deal with different problems

Only three cultures to play with will be boring and yet they call it a full fledged total war game instead of a saga

@@reydryne you will get the rest , you have to understand the logic . the 3 they gave you are the main ones who fought the sea peoples . this make them the main ones concerned by the collapse mechanism implemented who is the main gameplay mechanic for now , fight to survive . THEN later they gonna introduce other cultures with their own playstyle . for example if they introduce the greeks they will probably be alongside the sea peoples , this mean you will have different goals than surviving , you will have to migrate instead and form a kingdom or something . same if they introduce assyria . you will have to survive in a different way against mountain barbiarians and arabic nomads and splinter sea people armies etc .... then they will add a different campaign (maybe bigger maybe smaller , maybe set in a different period) . so the scope of the game is still massive

I mean on the steam page there are 3 faction packs in the mix already for pre order who else would they be?

I don't think you can beat the soundtrack from the Pharaoh game in 1999. Big shame that no game has ever replicated that.

since anatolia looks identical, i hope we can merge the troy map and make a mega game with mycenaeans and assawa league together. on the other hand, at least Assyria should be there

Aye, it was nice that you could choose which type of bodyguards you could have in Rome 2, but being able to customize them much more heavily in Pharaoh sounds very fun!

You can collect and swap out bodyguards in Troy as well.

@@Raider1377 You can chose what base unit the general goes in, similar to rome 2. Its not the same as picking what equipment they get. I'm hoping Pharaoh makes it possible to have unique looking custom bodyguard units that are different from recruitable units.

He's definitely there to ensure that the Bronze Age Collapse is a genuine risk no matter which faction you play, I like it. :D

They put shechem east of the Jordan river so my expectations dropped massively In general total war is often very inaccurate with proper historical representation, but here they even put probably several cities on the completely wrong places on the map..

@@joka4387 its not inaccuracy but scaling and province division . warhammer is massively innacurate none of their maps were canon on neither scale nor shape nor city locations . they are not like paradox , they still fragment the map in an arcadish way that is simplistic and since cities are massive in the campaign map and need a sphere around it this push them to place some cities in different location . i wouldnt be offended by that really . maybe if paradox did it and they did that in victoria 3 and i disliked the game massively for a plethora of reasons but here its not too terrible . remember cannaan is tight area with tons of cities .

@@LauftFafa if your "scaling" leads to placing Shechem/Nablus, the "capital" of Samaria, in Jordan instead of Samaria/Palestine then yes that is inaccurate and wrong. Either put the cities on the correct place, use other cities or upscale the map. I dont remember any city in the total war Rome, attila or Troy games being this horribly misplaced (though I could be wrong). Of course these games are always extremely simplified and game maps and mechanics can never represent true history, but that's another level.

@@joka4387 yeah . in ck3 there was a bronze age mod (wasnt up to date last time i checked) who so hardcore i couldnt keep up with it especially because it uses native names . its how i learned that Waset is thebes , menefer is memphis , Wilusa is troy etc but in that mod all my years reading about bronze age felt like worthless because the ammount of research those modders did put in there was something i couldnt even get near it for various reasons such as lack of things to read from , lack of maps and more (as a carthograph myself it takes me forever just to find a bronze age map with very few cities mentioned in native name) but those modders did it with thousands of cities i would pay money to have whatever source material they used

yeah, pre-ordering a game nowadays is basically a death sentence. It used to be if you saw a game you'd thought you like or played a predecessor in a series you would play like £20-30 pre-ordering it. Now its £70 for a lucky dip if your gonna get a working game or not.

The symbol on the banner is the weapon of the Hittite storm god Teshub and the round thing on top is most likely what's called a Hittite Sun disk, so probaby teasing Hittites. But since we already know they are next I also think this is a double tease for banners too.

Seems like the generals can be destroyed and killed as Ramses was killed in the video by the Canaanite force in Egypt.

This is cleary not the max unit size.

As today most of them is kinda unknown, but the most accepted theory is that various tribes/lesser kingdoms joined to sack the coasts of Egypt and Anatolia. Literally vikings from the Bronze Age.

Multi-ethnic warbands and pirates, including Shardana from Sardinia, Mycaenian Greeks, non-Hittite Anatolians (Lukka), and others - including ancestors of Etruscans and Philistines from Bible. Overall, there is little known about them

I really hope they add Troy map like they did with Immortal Empires, also Babylonians and Asdyrians are a must in this. Hopefully they will add them at some point.

@@mariusbehm9874 Well, people have decided to hate the game before they knew anything about it and refuse to change their minds (as proven by the clearly faulty accusations that it's a copy of Troy), so if it doesn't do well it'll be their fault.

I mean given that we can assume there are a few local sharpshooters up there defending the city it doesn't make much sense that capturing the tower would make them start shooting their own people.

@@partydean17 And it's impossible for those men to be killed and replaced by the attacking side's archers? Or at least neutralized and removed as a threat? That makes a lot more sense to me than the total collapse of a giant stone structure the moment enemy forces take possession of it like some kind of ancient trip mine.

@@resileaf9501 Its about the amount of stuff on the screen. Every unit has random stuff above their heads everything is blinking every range from the ranged units are being displayed. Its just WAY too much.
