Its very interesting history. The era of the (220-280 A.D) 3 kingdoms basically lasted 60 years(with a 30ish year run of like 10+ kingdoms before it(184 A.D -220 A.D). over 50+ million chinese died in that short span of time from warfare, disease and famine

Or the heavily romanticized version of History of the period In the form of a novel: Romance of the Three Kingdoms by luo guanzhong. Or you can peruse the internet for information on the period. Here is a Wikipedia article of media adaptations of the novel en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_media_adaptations_of_Romance_of_the_Three_Kingdoms Remember those some facts are true a lot of it especially if it's based on the novel is romanticized or slightly fictional. You have to read actual like historical sources for information to get the real history. But this period of Chinese history is so popular in Asia

That's fine, DLC has become, for some, kind of a trigger word, and lots of people seem to have an almost involuntary kneejerk reaction when devs make DLC. Don't forget to investigate the nuances of a situation. Also, thanks for the levelheaded response, many others just respond to me with insults and very poor reasoning.

Well I mean atleast the Yellow Turbans arnt a center stage faction, imagine if they put one of the three kingdoms behind a pre-order DLC, that would of been the equivalent of the Chaos DLC

Not really technically speaking the game should be taking place right after the yellow turban rebellion was crushed. So including them as a DLC is a bit of revisionist history.

Saurus Blood After the yellow turban rebellion's major forces were crushed and its founders executed, it did live on in the officers that escaped, which are the three in the DLC. They did continue to live on as small cells, and in the game you're controlling these small cells.

Total War Rome 1 is only 1 faction is Rome to play and unlock, other factions can not play for first play game.

Eh, many devs do this. It's pretty cool that we can wait up until a week after release and still ahve it for free- enough to absorb all the reviews/streams

In retrospect, I think the Warriors of Chaos controversy would've been a non-issue if WoC was given for free and the pre-order pack just lets you customize your WoC by 5 skins - Undivided, Khorne, Slaanesh, Tzeentch, and Nurgle.

It's not exactly cut content Will. Because the game starts after the Yellow Turban Rebellion happened. And Tony M, it wasn't the Yellow Turbans Cao Cao was fighting in his trailers, it was Dung Zhuo and Yuan Shao's forces. Just watch the trailer again and you'll see that it is.

It’s incredibly upsetting. As a total war fan and an ancient China nerd, I had always been saying “they should make a Three Kingdoms Total War title” and here they are, ruining a dream I thought had come true when they first announced it.

I agree. This isn't some fictional setting (it is) but the Romance of Three Kingdoms began with the Yellow Turban rebellion. Why isn't the Yellow Turban Rebellion already apart of the main game? Most of the important characters started their military careers fighitng the Yellow Turbans.
