In part 4 of our series on building a Chesapeake Light Craft 17' kayak, we get to work on the hatches, rims, cockpit coaming and the deck. Laying down epoxy mixed with the TotalBoat Clear Hardener first gave the raw wood a great seal and nice finish on which to apply many coats of varnish. TotalBoat Gleam varnish is applied over multiple coats and with some expert tips on application and prepping for any varnish job, there is plenty to see in this video.
