I'm not a tory but I wish to God that more of them were like Rory, he's decent, pragmatic and intelligent. And here we are with Boris.

This shows exactly what the problem was and is. An absolute disregard for Afghan lives. She does not ask him ..but what about the loss of Afghan life...that is increasing by every year!!!

The reason it was relatively peaceful for last few years was the Taliban were waiting for western withdrawal.

During the brexit debate, this man surely was one of the most disliked people by the leave campaign, it was people like Rory that created the environment of Inevitability for a Boris landslide In 2019 by disregarding the democratic will of the people by blocking brexit. However, whatever you may think of Rory, he has been spot on and an experienced voice of analysis during this afghan catastrophe. Boris should put differences aside, and immediately call him up and bring him on board to help with this situation. Rory seems to know alot more about the country and his experience is desperately needed!!!!! When lives are at risk, pettiness of the past must be dropped and cooperation should be top priority

Rory seems like a voice in the wilderness, what a decent man. We need to listen to him, I’m sure the military are listening, they have made sacrifices to serve unlike this self serving government.

If it was such a small presence. Why couldn't the UK fill the void, or even other NATO members such France?

There are 28 thousand American soldiers in South Korea however Biden couldn't resist letting 2500 American soldiers stay in Afghanistan

The sooner we get Rory Stewart back in Parliament the better. He is the antigen to so many ills in British politics, indeed possibly even global politics.

Oddly enough the next video that youtube showed me after this was a Ted Talk from 2011 where Rory argued that we needed to get out of Afghanistan and that the Talkban could never take Kabul. Oops.

The US can keep troops in many countries in the world for decades. No reason to withdraw

Rory Stewart, whether you agree with him or not. He know the region he understands the culture. He does know what he's talking about. Afghanistan has been a disaster, and most of that disaster has happend in this last week. It really is sad.

Should learn from History, when they dealt with Bin, should have pulled out, to change a foreign culture, the british tried in America, tried in India, it's best to let each country sort itself out, they removed Gaddafi look how that turned out, removed Sadham, on and on

John Major. Tony Blair. Gordon Brown would have been on the phone to their American counterpart. Exactly.

A complete betrayal of the Afghan people and internal forces that contributed, and tried to give a new hope ...
