She looks pretty healthy to me, so it looks to me like she’s been taken care pretty well. Besides this segment is staged, they’re actually just super hardcore collectors of PKD. Check out the Vice video that covers the craze, where they show their collection. It’s still creepy sure. But they don’t actually believe a doll is real.
@@MJW238 Actually as I stated they’re HARDCORE collectors or were cause I think they either are still trying or have sold off their whole collection, yes including their “son” Kevin. Even though this video focus on one doll and has this couple portrayed as some nuts to believe to be their son. Like I said, that was JUST for this show though. They actually have THOUSANDS of those creepy (and ugly) Cabbage Patch kids dolls that they spent probably more than a MILLION dollars on in their lifetime. They definitely didn’t just buying dolls when their daughter was adult, they spent not just a lot of money into their collection but a LOT of years as well. So yeah, they’re still a bit odd overall, just not “we believe dolls are living kids of others” weird. It’s too bad a show like this wanted to make what was in actual just big collectors and SUPER fans and portray them as geeks and losers that out of touch with reality. I would have liked the show better if they just showed off these people super awesome collections, especially that TMNT super fan lady, but instead of making her look like just a big TMNT fan and collector they made her look like a loser who’s in debt for TMNT and has to eat Pizza with bizarre toppings like they did in the cartoon, neither of which were true.
Why is there gorillaz music and that poor sister I mean a doll gets more than a human including his own room , a custom car and a college fund and if there raising a “kid” for 19 years he wouldn’t be a “kid”
At first I assumed the doll was perhaps a coping mechanism for the parents. Perhaps they lost a child or weren't able to have children.....then you find out they have a daughter...

If I were the sister of that doll, I would literally burn it in a raging bonfire. Why don't they love their ACTUAL child? Seriously, that poor girl got no love or attention since she was a little girl. Breaks my heart. 💔
Most of these people showcased on totally obsessed, especially the cabbage patch ones, need to be fucking thrown into a mental hospital. If that doesn't help, just have them shot. Society isn't safe with these crazies and their insane fetishes running rampant.
This one is fucked up because it actually impacts the life of someone who isn't involved with the obsession. The other obsessed people, it's just something they really like to do and it doesn't affect anyone else. They can do whatever they want. But here, they're depriving their own daughter of love and affection for the doll. And the worst part is that the daughter vocally disapproves of it.
The poor daughter.. Kevin gets WAY more attention then her. He is NOT real, And she is.. They really need to fix their lives and spend time with their daughter rather then a stupid doll.

I've cooked for these people at a small diner in Leonardtown md. They bought food for their dolls and wasted it because of course the dolls can't eat. so article or not these people are still dumb as shit
I know it wasn't mentioned here, but I bet there's something deeper to this couple's connection with the doll. I'm totally guessing here, but I wonder if maybe a very long time ago, the older woman had a miscarriage, and lost a baby boy? Or perhaps wanted another child, but could never have one? I don't know, there just seems like there could be a psychological reason behind such extreme treatment....
This is not an obsession, this is the strangest thing I've seen, it's a doll not a person. It's actually kind of fucked up if u think about it, 40 year old couple that treat a doll like a kid and that the fact that this couple doesn't relize it can't talk is weird. And y the hell does it have a college fund, these people need me tale help, and they need it now

I was just like these two. I had a cabbage patch kid. He was my best friend in the entire world. I did everything with him. Most of the things shown in this segment I did with him. I wouldn’t go anywhere without him. And then I turned 4.
I think this is one of the more legit episodes of Totally Obsessed. These people actually own the largest Cabbage Patch Kids collection in the entire world and are pretty well known for it; Pat and Joe Prosey. Their collection is worth about $1 million.
Are used to think it was creepy also since I saw my friends collection I wanted one and also I have a limited addition ballerina Cabbage Patch kid that I got on clearance at Toys “R” Us so ha ha
I was watching this video with some friends, and in about the middle I jokingly said "what if they actually had a kid?" and one of my friends said "That would be awful!"... then we kept watching and saw- we saw a- an actual child (sort of)
qt schartner Did you ever see that Geiko commercial where a Cabbage Patch kid grows into an adult, struggles through life and switches his car insurance to Geiko? As I generally think differently of CPK's, I found that commercial quite funny!
+qt schartner As I don't fancy the CPK's like you do still I do know all about how prominent they were back in the 80's! I know lots of random facts. But just imagine. When these Cabbage patch kids came out in the 80's, parents have actually lined up outside the department stores just waiting to get in to buy a CPK for their kids. And where there was only a limited number of them in stock, parents fought over the CPK's!
