Glad it was helpful! I'm not sure those grommets are salvageable it they were that tight of a fit. I've read that some people cut them off underneath after removing the screw in order to get them out. You can buy a new set of grommets on Amazon for about $9!

Thanks for your sage advice. I did get them out, with a struggle, using Nipple Cream and lock plyers, but ordered a spare kit from Amazon just in case, for about $8.00@@ItsFixable

Installed on a Delta bowl, wirh small holes. I deopped the screws down the center of rh grommets and easily pushed the grommets through the holes pressing straight down on the screw heads.

Those damn things don't fit and I probably will have to hire a plumber to fix the toilet, return the TOTO to Amazon and I'm in big trouble with this building I am moving into. Lucky me, the "affordable housing" came through after a 15 year wait list. Trust me, the paperwork when you have health issues and are on disability make you want to die. I watched several installation videos and it should have been easy but so far I've broken 3 bones dealing with the move from hell. I probably set the healing process back or maybe I tore my shoulder again. So if you can imagine the most primal scream right now...Losing my parents, 3 surgeries, Covid (I take 25 pills every day; its true if you aren't healthy you're fucked, in every way).Life sucks beyond imagining. But at least I'm not bathing and drinking the Shigella infested waters of the Ganges so I shouldn't complain.

@@jeffreybreitbart7118 have you tried putting soap in the water on the grommet and stick it in the hole and take a paper towel and grab the grommet on the underside and pull while pushing on the top end it should snap right into place, good luck

Mmm... seems odd. I remember having to turn those screws quite a bit as they were long and it took a lot of twists to fully compress the rubber retaining anchors. I haven't had anything loosen yet.

I did a toto washlet install and the bracket is tight down to the toilet. Once the seat clicks in there is movement in the seat unrelated to the bracket. I guess that's the design. When weight is put on the seat it locks down. The toilet is a one piece toto elongated design so it fits perfect.

I think I’m having the same issue. My bracket seems tight still but my seat seems to squeak now when I sit on it. Seems like the back of the seat seems to have some play in it. Good video though. Helped me to take it off and try to fix it

Is the seat hitting the tank when you slide it on? if so, you need to move the bracket toward the front of the toilet. Other than that I can't think of any reason it shouldn't clip in.

I'm thinking that if they won't fit, simply switch to bolts and thumb nuts used on regular toilet seats. I see no reason why they wouldn't work to secure this washlet.

@@ItsFixable Now I can't get the grommets out of the holes. There is a metal threaded sleeve inside the bottom inch of the grommet that is now jammed in the holes for each of the grommets. In trying to remove the rubber grommet I tore the rubber. This is going back to Amazon. I tried to call Toto but there is no one on duty to answer questions on the weekend. When do they think working people do projects like this? I'm very frustrated and disappointed in TOTO. I looked on the instructions to see if there were any cautions about attempting to install on a Kohler toilet and I was not able to locate anything.

Since they are already damaged, cut off the top rubber flange with a knife and then use the bolt as a punch to tap the remaining piece down and out the bottom of the hole. Then perhaps try mounting it with new, standard seat bolts and thumb nuts.

@@ItsFixable I pulled off the rubber above the part that was stuck in the porcelain, sprayed some silicone around the top and underneath, used an L shape needle nose pliers to grab the metal grommet from the inside, twisted to one side and the remainder of the grommet popped out. Amazon is accepting the return and paying postage. I can't believe I am the only customer who has experienced this issue. Thank you for your continued interest in helping me get this straightened out.

Your question is unclear. Are you saying that the grommets aren't sugged up by turning the screws? You should be able to tighten the screws quite a bit in order to squeeze the grommets causing them to tightly grip the ceramic.

I did a complete renovation of the bathroom and installed the outlet at that time. Even if you don't plan to immediately have the system, the outlet adds potential resale interest/value to the property; research shows that both modernized bathrooms and kitchens are the two most compelling sales features in homes.

Of course we went and got replacement bolts and washers, as I read on other sites people had to, then we tried it and used a rubber mallet and it went in. This is NOT an easy part to get in if you don’t have a Toto toilet!

Yes, not the best look, but saves several hundred dollars in not having to purchase and replace the toilet bowl.
