I am amazed that Glenn Hoddle was able to achieve anything with the 2000-2003 Tottenham teams. They were average, lacked style, aggression and talent. They were a mid table team. We did make it to the League Cup Final only to loose to Blackburn Rovers. Imagine if Glenn Hoddle was able to get the players he wanted instead of who Daniel Levy wanted.
It was very difficult for Hoddle to achieve anything at Spurs under a very tight budget and Levy not backing him with the players he wanted. Glenn Hoddle could have done very well he Spurs if he was backed by Spurs, it’s real shame.
This was in May 2001 and at the end of the 2000/2001 FA Carling Premiership season. And then ironically, these 2 teams would wear the very same shirts again 4 months later on 29 September that same year in that 5-3 thriller during the 2001/2002 FA BarclayCard Premiership season.
