Even if you don't like Balotelli, this is unexceptable from an Italian legend like Totti. It's really interesting to see in the comments below how people are saying he deserved to be kicked like that. Lets remember that this was in 2010. Balotelli was 19 years old! Let's flip the script, if Balotelli did this he wouldn't be allowed to play Serie A football again let alone join the italian national team. Totti got a 3 game ban for doing this, Balotelli got a 6-7 match ban for screaming at a referee, let that sink in.
***** Totti IS a legend, which makes this kick even more disgraceful, but that doesn't take away from Totti's greatness as a player. They should of banned him for at least 8 matches like they did with balotelli when he threatened the referee, but Totti only got 3 match ban.
I dislike Balotelli as much as the next guy but how could anyone defend Totti after that? That is disgusting behavior, he made himself look like a prick.
Tev Balotelli was not on the ground when he was kicked, first of all. Secondly, Totti was under frustration. Roma wasn't playing well and Totti was frustrated. Does that make him a scumbag? No. He's one of the most respected players in the world and to be fair, Balotelli deserved a kick in the leg.
DontRagePlays Yes of course that makes him a scumbag. Just because he was frustrated doesn't justify it, was it okay when Suarez bites because he is frustrated?
Totti's reaction has nothing with Balotelli's colour, you four hypocrites have made statues of those who have done worse..You are only good at spreading hate, we have plenty of that in "Italy"
@@gavinperry8433he’s totally right wtf YOU are saying, Totti did that cause Balotelli was joking about Romans, the one racist here was Balotelli but you are not ready for the truth
@@gavinperry8433 instead of being a clown why don’t you go and read how things went and how the same Balotelli is in good relationship with Totti and admitted that he was an asshole during the whole game? Stop being a clown please 🙏
RomanistaRLM He can only be the new Captain when Totti retires. Totti would never allowed it before. He never takes of the Captain band even when he is taken off. They have to find new ones to give to Rossi or Keita.
Your right about him being dirty but it's Italian football but in terms of quality this guy is unbelievable and he is respected around the world of football.
***** I dont like Mario Balotelli much, he is warm hearted and skilled but thats about it. I like Francesco Totti but i have to agree, he was a wanker doing that.
People criticizing Totti here are hypocrates and I'm saying that what he did was ugly. But It's a normal human reaction sometimes to lose your temper (Mario himself loses his temper a lot). Nobody pays attention to how Totti react to the red card - he knew he made a mistake and that's OK, people make mistakes. It happens.
+Bobby Kalaydjiev Who cares what mario did and when he lost his temper. Totti is still a piece of shit, losing your temper doesn't mean you go and assault people for that or try to break someones leg. TOTTI IS A MOTHERFUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!
At first, I was like yeah that's funny and then I realized and saw how painful it must've been the way Balotelli screamed said everything. Not a good thing at all
Nah everyone was irritated by Mario’s attitude even the Inter fans that’s why Maicon high fived Totti because both players had enough of Balotelli’s nonsense. Also before the kick a lot of stuff happened between Balotelli and Totti. Balo was basically talking shit about Totti being done and he was also talking shit to the Roma fans. Totti had enough of his attitude but a captain’s gotta do what he had to do and Balo deserves to be curb stomped by any Roma fan.
if you're not civil others won't be civil to you, certainly not in Rome by the likes of Totti who takes wearing the badge very seriously, quintessence of fairness in fact
Totti was always a fair player(he deserved the rispect of all football players). Why in this case he wasn't? No one of Balotelli's teammates have defended him. These clues make me think. It's very strange and the same time very obvious: Balotelli had a provocative behaviour during that game, He said to Totti "You are ended". He deserved that kick, He is a bimbominkia
+Ste Sic day before balotelli had called totti wife bitch so he replied with that hard kick. Then you understand why he kicked him in m 87 when the match was almost finished
+Ste Sic So all of this is a theory for you? This case is really simple: Balotelli was a pain to play against. He is strong, he has great ball control, he is fast and he plays mind-games. Balotelli made some remarks to Totti. Here is what was said after it, so you stop spreading lies around on RU-vid. "Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli says he's lost all respect for Roma captain Francesco Totti after their Coppa Italia clash. Totti was sent-off for a horrible kick out at the young striker after the pair had exchanged verbal barbs. "Totti's insults hurt me more than the kick I received," the Inter striker told Vanity Fair. "He was someone I admired. I have no problems controlling myself. I have never hurt anyone or reacted physically to provocation. "I will admit I can use words to hit back, but if it does happen then I do admit to it. Real men don't hide behind someone else. I cannot say that same about Totti." The Roma star claimed Balotelli had continually provoked him, calling him 'granddad' and suggesting his career was finished. In turn, Balo insisted Totti used a racist epithet - something the veteran absolutely denied. "I just told him something like: 'Are you going to keep playing or act like a baby?' He replied with a racist term," alleged Balotelli. "Then I heard him tell Thiago Motta: 'Now I'll break him.' I smiled and walked away. After that, I got kicked. I didn't even understand at the time, it was only watching the footage that I realised how he kicked me. "In any case, the insult hurt me more than the kick. Totti was someone I admired."
lol hes coming back to liverpool?are you happy? hahaha...the time bomb will be back..good luck to your locker room..im happy for you..haha...liverpool will never win a premiere..haha truth
Moments before, Balotelli had said to Totti "You're finished, Grandad." Il Capitano didn't take it well. Totti has been sent off 16 times in his career. All but two have been straight reds.
@@iganpparamarta8813 and Marco Materazzi who was sitting on the bench, also gave Francesco a high-five on his way went out of the pitch. what a lovely scene.
Not only for that. Also for winning the World Cup with Italy, being in the All-Star Team. Also for winning the European Golden Boot, being Serie A's Italian Player of the Year a record 5 times and 2nd All Time Top Scorer in the League's history, one of the first 10 players to be inducted in the Italian Football Hall of Fame and a member of FIFA 100. Yeah, the guy's a legend just fine.
It's the amazing the amount of people congratulating Totti for kicking a defenseless player on the leg, that hard, from behind. Almost as if Balotelli has physically hurt these people. So much for that Italian bravado. But then again, cheap shots seem to be celebrated these days.
if that's a cheap shot then European civilization was built on cheap shots but I guess your father wasn't around to teach you this or anything useful for that matter
@@michalbosiukWhat does any of this even mean, lol? When le "European" civilization succeeded because footballers were senselessly kicking people. 95% of Europeans still hate each other, so not sure what you're on about. Imagine bringing up anyone's lack of a father after that spastic comment.
balotelli was a dickhead, he deserved this. totti just proved to be a legend. Where is balo now? at home with only fifa trophies thinking that he had the opportunity to became a legend but wasn't able because of his dickhead... and maybe thinking that totti ending his career that day would have been better
@@favianorozco9870 no I love the blues and black culture.. totti is not racist too, in the same video he gave hands to maicon. balotelli is a dickhead, you haven't follow his career from the start like we did in italy. totti explained that he made funny silly joke about roma for all the match. he sow no respect for totti, that is know to be no the most calm legend of italian football
All the players have angry moments. He repeatedly said he was sorry and out of his mind in that moment. You cant judge a player, or a man , for 0.5 seconds of his life. Look at all the charity and good things he does ,instead.
@@favianorozco9870 Why cause balo is a scumbag ? Ever notice no inter player even got in tottis face ? Cambiasso and maicon even patted Totti on his back
8 years ago everyone was saying how stupid Totti was. But look how things have changed now. Now we know that Mario was trying to get under Totti's skin and Totti mentioned getting a high five from the inter players 0:41 . The man was a Legend and loved his city. Some players have that one button you just don't push and on that day Mario pushed it and everyone on the field knew. That is why no one said anything to Totti. Mario was always a wild character and that often left him isolated. He could have used this opportunity to learn and understand why his teammates never stood up for him.
Eto’o stood up for him. Only teammate with some backbone. The others are spineless. Mario’s antics and talent both helped him and the team. A player like that may be a handful but you’d rather have him on your team so he can rile up players on the other team.
@@thehiddenone181football is not about riling opposition players, combine that with his failure to develop anywhere near he's potential and the conclusion is that he's nothing
It can happen that a nervous player can act agressively, we are humans after all. I am not saying this is acceptable but we should always think that Roma could have won a trophy that day and being the captain makes you extremely angry and nervous. I am not saying this is acceptable anyway.
well at 19 you have the rights of an adult and so the responsibilities of an adult because that goes together inexplicably, not an excuse at all, not mature enough? then don't engage in activities with adults, lotta bullshit 19 not 19 he was cocky as a man can be so he got treated adequately
