Musical taste is so broad and subjective. But, in my opinion, the slide parts were a little too much! Every chord change a riff/lick is not needed really. Just about 1/2 to 2/3rds of what you did gives the listener enough time to hear, enjoy, and then wait in anticipation for the next riff. I play lap steel as well as guitar, bass, and a few others. Less is more is a great musical tactic. I really enjoyed what you did the rest of the song! Keep up the good work.

I agree that less is more sometimes and I definitely take that approach when playing live. I even preach that to other guitar players all the time. What I did here was just to show some other options. Especially if you’re the only guitar in the mix. Thanks for the honest feedback 🙏🏻
