Yeah because being higher rated means that we can find a lot of the best moves given time. Doesn’t mean that we still don’t play some games like 600s. I recently played this 1450 when I was around 1470 and bruh lowkey I need to get that on chess the elo, trust Levy wouldn’t think it was played by people above 900.
@@devroopsaha4020 M69 is usualy some sort of table base position for example queen and king vs rook and king. Its easier to blunder your rook than it is the queen so there you go :)
@@devroopsaha4020 I be looking at their profiles after the game and they’re highest rating is always around like 1400-1500 these arnt 1300 these are 1500 level players who can’t compete at their own level
LMAO, this reminds me of that one time he said, “RU-vid is superior” -Levy, during that one episode where Twitch kept making the same joke over and over
he then roughly cut the video, and twitch chat changed from shocked to "clapping green frog in top hat or whatever" implying that something was said that levy didn't want RU-vid to know AND twitch chat liked it.
What makes this channel so dope is that Gotham almost puts you inside his mind with his commentary and board arrows. Its like peering into the mind of an IM. 10/10 best chess content out there
In the locker room of the varsity chess team during HT. Coach: What the fuck was that out there! Simon, Bishop to E3? Really??!! You're killing me, bro. Anderson, I told you NOT to play the Vienna! You suck at the Vienna! From now on stick to the Caro Cann! And Peters, what was all that showboating with your rook before castling? I know your girlfriend is in the audience, but stay focused on the wood in front of you until the match is over. I want to see aggression, people! I want to see unrelenting pressure. You're warriors! You're cavemen with brains! (Boy pokes his head in) Boy: Coach your tea is ready. Coach: Earl Grey? Lemon? Boy: Yes, sir. Coach: I'll take it on the patio.
If I'm being honest, I'd think people would try to force endgames, which could be around 75 points (150 pushups) between 3 games, maybe even a bit more that, definitely a fun idea
I’m sorry if this has been asked before or if just a bad question, but how much chess do you actually play in a day. Obviously for videos and streams but do you find yourself playing for fun?
you can check out the games he has played in a day and then sum up the time to get a rough guest. On lichess it is shown how much time you have spent the current day playing chess. i am not sure about chess.com.
Levy: you have watched REDACTED AMOUNT OF TIME Me, an intellectual in 2x speed: you wish edit: realized I kinda gave away the secret code, sorry Mr. Rozman
Yeah I think Levy is actually correct in saying "less" because he's using it to describe the word "active"; he's not using it to describe the word "pieces". If he were referring to the pieces, then yes he would have to say "fewer pieces". But it's certainly valid to say "more active" or "less active". So saying black has "less active pieces" is perfectly fine.
Dude, you are freaking amazing. Also, love the subtle New York humor. My wife looks at me curiously when I laugh out loud watching your videos, since I usually have my headphones on. She doesn't see how a chess video could be funny. Anyway, I have been stuck at about 1000 rating. Been playing about six months. I realized that I had no plan for my pawn endgame. I always groaned when it got to the endgame. Was too lazy to learn strategy. Who wants to learn boring pawn endgames, right? Like . . . why would the fourth quarter of a football game matter, right? Duh. I finally realized I needed to learn this crap. I pulled my chessboard out, and meticulously went over this video (I also went over Queen and Pawn Endgame). I felt like I was back in college playing the Mike Tyson Punchout video game (long before your time). My buddies and I could never knock Tyson out, until my brother bought a book that gave the secrets to beating Tyson (By the way, "books" are pages of writing bound in cardboard, in case you're not sure what a book is! Hey, how's that for New York humor, right?). Your endgames videos are like that to me. Wow. Oh, I'm not sure if you read all of your comments, but, if you do, give a shout out to my daughter's song about Chess, called "Chessboard." Yeah, this is a cheap plug, but it's not why I watched your videos. Her name is Amanda Fagan. Who writes songs about chess, right? On that issue alone, she should get a metal. Besides, the song is actually freaking awesome. It's on RU-vid and Spotify. Keep up the great work. I'm going to keep watching your endgame videos. Can't wait to torture other people with my newfound knowledge. (I posted this message on a few of your videos because I don't know if you read all of the comments on all of your videos, since you have so many comments).
In all seriousness, this does show that everyone makes mistakes. I loved the 1600-rated player song, and I know Levy meant it as light-hearted banter, but he's not really in a position to criticise given that he's just as capable of blundering a piece. Not hating on Levy (he's my favourite chess youtuber) but just pointing this out.
Hey Levy, love your content One suggestion...Can you make videos where you make your subs play, like 1000 vs 1200, 1200 vs 1400 elos and commentate, so that we can see where the elos differ and it'll be easier to improve....Thanks
200 points is too small difference though, in one game the lower rated guy can easily play better. 500 points difference would be better in my opinion.
Its been around 10 minutes since the video has been uploaded; there's no way you could have watched the entire thing to judge whether it has improved or not.
Levy always reminding me to be the offensive enema and soften up the enemy defenses is encouraging. As someone who was constipated twice as a child, I recognize that enemas are helpful to softening up hard, stubborn defenses. Also, the fact that he mentions “Win at chess episode 12” throughout the entire video, and then the thumbnail....... cheers. Love the content, Levy. Keep it up.
22:05 There is that Polish TV series "Ranczo" which is quite popular in Poland - it tells a story about an American girl who comes to Polish countryside and then helps people to make their lives just a little better. Basically the series is just a depiction of Polish society and its vices and virtues. Also, if you like drama and comedy, I highly recommend.
@@goodryan8989 yes. It’s only for 1 course. But after you buy the first one you get an offer and can get another. So I bought the caro at 50% off then got an offer for E4 at 50% off
So, for people wondering, at 50:23 the theoretical move for white is Be3, with the idea to later go Nxf7 in case black doesn't like giving up free pieces
Hii Levy I am big fan of you... Your videos help me a lot in improving in chess.... You r a very good chess coach... Keep uploading videos as it helps everyone a lot... And too you are a great RU-vidr
I'm fairly low level so it was informative to consider why queen to D1 wasn't even mentioned as an option in the last endgame. At first glance it looked safe, but tracing out the follow-up showed me what I'd overlooked: the only move for white would then be king F2, and then there's no good move for black except to move the queen back. Anything else leads to losing either the rook or the queen, and moving the queen back just means the king could move back (making it a waste of time) or leave it there (which doesn't leave any obvious attacks). All of this is surely instantly obvious to anyone experienced, but I'm only getting back into chess now after having not played in almost 20 years, so working through it helps.
2400 rated player hung a piece on move 12, 2400 rated player hung a piece on move 12, This guy is 2400 and he hung a piece on move 12, 242421 and he hung a piece on movee 12, Didnt see a trapped bishop, Trapped his own bishop, Didnt see a trapped bishop, Could hv saved his bishop, This guys bishop was trapped like 3 moves in a row, Didnt even SEE it, Like when i see a pawn on c5, thats the first thing i think of, Damn , damn damn damn
Day 132: Of requesting Levy to cover opposite coloured bishop endgames. Especially when you have a slight material advantage of being up by two or three pawns against your opponent and you both have opposite coloured bishops as well.
Yeah I completely agree, if you wanna actually learn endgames, deep opening theory and stuff check hanging pawns out he goes really in depth with everything
Its normally a draw if you place your pawns in the opposite colour to you opponent bishop. As a result their bishop cant do anything. Also use your bishop to prevent the king from approaching your weak points
@Clay Morris i’ve tried watching him quite a few times but it’s so boring lol. honestly his videos aren’t that great anyway in my opinion, he mostly just goes over main line theory from what i’ve seen
in second game you had a better play with queen. at 17:27 you had to play queen to g3 instead of h6 which is a less obvious mate maneuver because then you attack h7 with black square bishop, and at that point his pawn is pinned to king so whatever he does after that move wont stop mate with queen to g7.
1:40 As a 1300 rated kings Indian player myself, I only get to play a typical kings Indian attack once in a blue moon. Everyone either plays trumpowski or just pawn storm the king side
I can't stress enough how good this series is. I climbed from 600 rating to 1300 in a couple of months and it was solely because of Levi and his insane tutorials. And I have been stuck at 1300 for the past two weeks, and this drops. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND. Good luck with the road to 1Mil
At 53:44 it was nice to see Levy think for more than one second. He even commented wow at his own ideas as if the years of blitz chess and just playing tactics and memorized lines fried his brain enough that this one moment of clarity was enough for him to apreciate rapid
It is my favourite show actually, I've been watching one or two episodes from your channel for the last two months dude, you are killing it keep it up!
