Joe - I think sending Ron down was a bad move - I know he hasn't been good recently, but I think that, overall, he IS good, and that he could be a valuable middle reliever in the post-season. There are obviously other guys in the bullpen who are worse than him. Weaver should be the designated closer - he's proven he can do the job. And, yes, just get rid of Holmes - his wheels have just come totally off the tracks. Even when he wasn't blowing saves, he was ALMOST blowing them - often only getting the 3rd out after letting one or two guys get on base. I don't know why Nestor shouldn't keep being one of our starters - although you're right about the fact that it could be a really strong combination to have him come in and pitch 3 or 4 innings after Gil has pitched 4 or 5 good innings, but is getting up there in pitch count. It's always nice if you can replace a great starter with a reliever who's just as good, or maybe even a little better. I'm hoping that we end up with the best record in the AL...and that one of the wild card teams manages to win the NL, which would give us home field advantage all the way through. (Plus, I'd really just like for us to NOT have to play the Dodgers or the Phillies in the World Series). Praying that God keeps us healthy - we've had way more than our fair share of injuries the past few years - let's have that injury bug go bite other teams for a change. Keep us healthy and keep everybody's bat hot. Look at our whole lineup, with Soto, Judge, Jazz, Rizzo, the Martian, Stanton, Volpe, Wells, Gleyber...if they're all hitting well, that is a real "Murderers Row" from top to bottom, potentially one of the strongest offensive lineups in history. I've noticed one funny thing - last year, we suffered from a severe lack of left-handed hitters - this year, we're almost overloaded with lefties. 😁 Keep up the good work. Go, Yankees!

Not sure he ever got a fair shot. Liked his stuff and though greener pastures were in the cards. He’ll hook elsewhere quickly and I wouldn’t rule out the chance that he could develop into something decent.
