Cheers mate, during these weird old times I'm trying my best to carry on smiling, I think you and many others the same, but by heck the world's a bit upside down.
Blimey mate bloody🥶🥶 lol . You hung in there very tough session nice to have a as you said a hard earn chevin to reward your perseverance. Get that net defrosted 🤣and keep them coming mate 🤛🏻
Cheers Phil, they were in a non forthcoming mood so it was nice to tempt one, but honestly as you know yourself, just being out and in the right place for your mind and soul is more than good enough on many occasions. I always find no matter how a fishing trip is I generally return home in a better mood than when I left.
Hiya mate, just settling down to watch this one with a cuppa and a tin of rice pudding 🤪👍🏻👍🏻 cracking fish on a very cold looking afternoon! Nice one Mark 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers Frank yes it was a bloody cold one and think when I said minus three at the end I was way out, nearer minus 6. How's the flooding and weather now at your location??
@@markerd5378 Flooding is now largely a thing of the past Mark, waters are receeding and the clean up has begun, but major impact on Murray River communities seeing as it was the second largest flood in recorded history! Overall it has been a mainly cool summer this year with only a few days in the 40's so far. Minus 6 - faaaaark!
Great stilly winter fishing ...Indeed In winter there are these curious ghost bites...as u say often quite big chub mouthing the bait without moving it..speaking of ghosts I caught a ghostie river carp a few days ago . Fought funny, turned out had 2 thirds tail missing likley chopped by otter...very recently inflicted..not ideal!... True !..being cold affects how adeptly we fish....
Yes argh the dreaded ghost bites, the mirage of the "did I really have a bite, but why didn't I connect?". Sounds like your ghostie carp had a lucky escape. I actually saw an otter a few evenings ago, no fear of humans whatsoever, obviously hand reared as usual.
Thanks Darion and yes the little Sienna you sent me is doing a fine job, landed many fish so far and as you know I love my 500 size reels. Hope you and the family son and daughter are keeping well. It was also good to see your son was ok after his recent appointments and things had not changed ❤️. Hope your dog is doing well too mate.
Thanks again Mark - perseverance pays off! A nice chub -well done! P.S. after you had said a few words about the robin I noticed it behind your right shoulder and, just like a panto, I was going "Behind you" (oh yes I was)
I had a similar experience Sunday whilst going for Barbel on the Thames, I was being battered by this cold wind all day so I was when glad a 3lb Chub showed up at witching hour to make it all worth it! 😄
well done mark harsh weather its tough going and catching anything is a bonus ,i remember fishing a river many years ago minus five freezing fog .and i thought my back side had come off no feeling at all fingers like ice ,but two small chub later went home a happy ice cube,,,,snow on the ground always adds to the atmosphere ,and the water is always smooth ,well mark until your next adventure down by the water tight lines..
Cheers Stephen and argh freezing fog is a right bad one. Generally plays my asthma up no end. You did well to catch. I've had some good trips in it in the past but oddly never done that well when pike fishing in freezing fog.
Great video. I can relate to fishing numerous spots with no success but when one does come along it makes the day. However, as I don’t fish into dark it’s often the case that one doesn’t come along!
Well what can one say. Another great video Mark and max points for perseverance mate. Im really struggling at the moment on a tiny stream which i know has chub because i have caught them but just lately is as if they have been beamed to another planet. At least seeing you catching them is a bonus, i just gotta keep trying i suppose.
Mark ! You’ll get haemorrhoids sitting on that cold bank 😂 Take a chair mate , I’m having an operation for mine next month 😟 This style into dark is what I’m doing nearly all autumn/winter can’t be arsed with predators this season. I fished 9 swims Sunday night for one chub. But I’m very organised and take a chair Keep the vids coming mate Cheers Tim
Cheers Tim , I'm at the piles stage currently 😬. I hear what you're saying but I do prefer at times being off the skyline on the small rivers so old habits and piles die hard 🤣.
