also one of the finest in the whole series, i don't think that she's the best/worst/easiest/hardest final boss in the series, but probably the more elegants thanks to them

He's correctly referring to the rank mechanic. Rank is a variable that goes up when you don't die. Increase in rank causes an increase in bullet quantity and speed.
wow! the last time I got this feeling was when I played Touhou 8 stage 4 the first time when Reimu tried to escape and everything was in motion. This stage 6 was so epic! Thank you ZUN!
@OmegaWeaponX25 Safespots are pretty much the only way you're going to dodge those star rings. As for the clone abuse, I just felt like showing it off. :V
@olAlolilo The game gets are harder as you survive longer. Usually this means the bullets are faster, but it does other stuff too. It reaches a limit at a certain point, and that's the "max rank."
I just noticed that the Graze mechanic made its debut in Raiden Fighters, albeit not named at the time. It's earliest name, "Scratch Bonus", is mentioned in the japanese wiki page of Thunder Force in the section of Thunder Force V. So yeah, before Lotus Land Story's graze were the mechanics of Raiden Fighters & Thunder Force V.
It's not impossible, but ZUN seems committed given the PMiSS profile stating she's passive-aggressive and doesn't attack unless provoked/disturbed in her Garden of the Sun. Or maybe he thinks she's too OP. That's likely why Mokou (who is also massively popular,) hasn't appeared in any other games. He's on record as saying she and Kaguya were going to be in Hisoutensoku, but they were too OP.
"That's likely why Mokou (who is also massively popular,) hasn't appeared in any other games." This has aged poorly kind of lol I still think Yuuka would be a fantastic addition to one of the fighting games
@olAlolilo Just last a really long time without dying or bombing. I believe timing out an attack phase reduces it, but if you keep shooting, that shouldn't happen. There are also things that boost the rank up quickly, such as picking up items and earning extra lives. If you make it all the way to Yuuka without any misses, you'll be at max rank for sure.
@ countryblueglass Rank=/= difficulty based on what I heard from PC-98 players. its like another difficulty choice other than difficulty choice at start of the game that changes based on how well you play. 4 example, if you see his no bomb 1cc run (which is not max rank), bullet patterns and speeds r a bit different although its same lunatic.
haven't played this title the checkered background is making it even more difficult it seems I'll puke my stomach empty even before I get to half of this stage
For some reason, i didnt let me play stage 6 even on normal. anyway, Touhou 4: LLS is a pretty decent/alright-ish game. It's way better than the first three games, imo. The improvement over them is notable. it was fun on easy mode but got a little frustrating on normal mode as usual. It would've been good if it wasn't for the random annoying lag and bullets flying at mach 3 speed. Most of the patterns were bearable, but with a recipe like that, once you see the bullets flying at you, it's already too late. I beat it on easy with 3 deaths then on normal with 2 continues. For some reason I didn’t get a 6th stage but I don’t really care. Don’t even get me started on the extra stage, lol. While it’s insane to try for the first time, and the music is solid, I can’t even imagine how hard it is with all of that ridiculous lag and mach 4 bullets everywhere. Well, it's a PC-98 game with some flaws and aspects that haven’t aged well so it's not really surprising. At least it improved a lot upon 1, 2, 3 but i wouldn't really recommend it to anyone. I'm just going to try the extra stage and then move on to 5 (Wow, that extra stage was actually insane. I don’t know what in the world was going on, but i died at the white orb midboss, lol)
I never understood the 'point' of Yuka's second attack. Is it mostly just to be a sort of newb-trap to make people freak out the first time? Though you sure as hell deserved to do that dance at the end of this one. Well done!
yeah, it's more of a troll. very few attacks in the series pull a reversal on you like that, where the seemingly dangerous place is actually the safezone.
imo, it's a cakewalk on easy and not too bad on normal (though it gets annoying), but it gets kind of unfair on hard and lunatic so i don't know how they do it. don't even bother with the extra stage, lol
minecraftdarkveil It's both- you have to clear Stage 5 on Normal without continues to get to Stage 6. It's kinda like Imperishable Night's Stage 6B in that regard.
