Yumeko is more strong than Sakuya and is near Reimu level, like you said she is a space manipulator, swordman master, can throw more fast swords and knifes than Sakuya and she is a demon. She is the strongest Shinki creation, if you think she is still more strong than her, Yuuka said she gave her a hard time, it’s funny than the one who beat Shinki without magic and who said she was weak for a godess said that.

@Mercury Uh, question: What does intangibility have to do with space manipulation? My headcanon is that Shinki gave Yumeko a fragment of her own power, allowing her to manipulate "existence" in the sense that she can bring things into existence, like her swords, (they have a very special summoning animation, with ripples conflating on the spots where the swords appear,) or bring herself to the brink of non-existence, allowing her to ignore attacks and just phase through them -- though at the expense of not being able to phase and attack at the same time.

@Mercury I'm pretty sure warping space around you or objects would make you neither intangible, nor particularly see-through... Unless you're implying some kinda extra-dimensional relocation ability, as if Yumeko was like a certain Naruto character a dozen years before said Naruto character was a Naruto character? ...Then again, it's not like fictional applications of spatial manipulation necessarily need to follow more scientific rules of spacetime and, given the graphical limitations in the first 5 Touhou games, I suppose it'd be silly of me to expect projectiles to actually graphically _curve_ around Yumeko. :/

This is not to be confused with difficulty, which is selected by the player to set the game to their level of skill. While it's often in other shmups, rank mechanics were removed from Touhou Project starting in 8, and only have a minor role in 7.
