感情を示す面が妖となり、こころは生まれた付喪神。
しかしてこれが難問で、己の心は分からない。
周りを見れば喜怒哀楽、面なき顔も変幻自在。
心を探した人里で、今日も答えは得られぬか。
そのとき入道雲を突き抜けた大笑いがこころに響く。
ひときわ大きな⑨笑い。

2:13 I think Koishi's trying to apologize for the bad blood between them. Also, if you look in certain spots, you can see Koishi following Kokoro on her quest to express herself. 1:42 Koishi's in between the curtains to Kokoro's right. 1:47 Koishi's to Kokoro's right, semi-hidden by the bridge and in the background. At 1:54, Koishi is at Letty's left, hiding behind the green shaved ice. And finally, at 4:24, she's proud she helped Kokoro make friends.

@@zer0330 Adding on to CruelFlower, Koishi stole Kokoro's original Mask of Hope, causing Koishi to be able to feel hope, but leaving Kokoro unable to express or feel hope. Which made Kokoro start draining hope out of the villagers in a desperate bid to feel hope again, leading to the events of Hopeless Masquerade.

I like how close to the canon made by ZUN this is, how hata no kokoro basically lives at the Myouren temple because Byakuren thinks she can find hope herself through buddhist teachings and how Koishi is also part of the Myouren temple because she was conbinced by Byakuren to join as Byakuren thinks koishi's closed 3rd is a step closer to enlightenment, and we all know why Joon is there, to be teached some manners and discipline.

Okay that's nice and all, but if Kokoro can express her emotions, making the masks pretty much useless, and on the other hand, she is a menreiki, a tsukumogami of her masks, what in the end is her purpose of being emerged from them?
