Wonderful Shrine Maiden of Paradise
A fighting game...a bloody fighting game...Touhou-like fighting game...but still a bloody fighting game...
If you can't tell by my enthusiasm fighting games really aren't my forte...But despite that I still kinda like these games, especially the story mode with the boss characters greater focus on danmaku play
Each stage has a different setup of bosses depending on the character you choose with each character gaining more health/more spell cards to throw at you. You will go through the first four stages normally coming up to a specific 'boss' character at stage five who will use the most amount of spells on you. From there you will always fight Yukari then Suika totaling at seven stages.
Reimu as a character is very well rounded. She has nicely powerful brawling attacks however she's no slouch in range either having both a powerful direct attack with good homing attacks as well. Reimu is a good choice for beginners with her versitallity in attacks allows you to wail on enemies really no matter where they are either closing the distance on you or running away to fight you at a distance.

I tried to play IaMP after playing every other fighting game and it was a disaster e.e still, I really like the art. Oh and you have to love that Alice's losing portrait has the doll HANG ITSELF. Taking "Hanged Hourai Dolls" a little too serious there. Reimu's "beat everybody up until I eventually arrive at the mastermind" routine is always funny too. The fact that you're ending it as "Shrine Maiden Kick to the face" makes it funnier As for bosses, Youmu is bullsh*t regardless of being a danmaku or a fighting game >_> Sakuya is fun and I hate how this game spawned all the "Pad" jokes about her, Remilia will always make me go .-. over her ways of dashing (and Charisma Break is a classic). I'll be sincere, love Evening Star in this game, but I do think the SWR version fits Yukari better. And Suika is way too cute for how badly she can tore me a new one. PS: Demystify Feast is such a nice song..

It's not disaster, it's imbalance vs Imbalance, especially in versus mode :D. The story mode also push you harder than the sequel, especially in hard mode and above. Where else can you versus mode your friend and spams OP moves, ONLY in IAMP.

Aw, man, these story modes were as long as I remember them. This game has my favorite pre-battle themes from all the fighting games. Beautiful OST.

In Touhou fighting game, everyone acts like a CPU, while Marisa here acts like an average player (every time you fight her)

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but basically the story goes: Usually during this feast, something goes wrong. But this time, nothing has gone wrong. We don't know why nothing has happened. We don't know who has caused nothing to happen, but by George, we are going to find the person who did nothing and punish them!

Stardust Reverie is ungodly punishing for how early it shows up. If you just picked up the game, it will fucking delete you. It comes out fast, it's a dash so it covers a lot of ground and then some, it has superarmor and since this is story mode, she just gets to spam it. It's so easy to get caught into a chain of "get hit by stardust reverie, fall down, marisa does it again, get hit again" If I didn't know my fighting games and bullshit matchups, I'd think something went wrong. The first attempt where I didn't lose two whole ass lives taking that thing down, I made it past Youmu, all the way to Remilia's second spell.
