I think yt ate my comment again. Most of them would probably accept it, some with more difficulty than others. The ones who would kill you would probably eventually do so anyway. Also youd need a species neutral character because most youkai wont want to date a human in character (some may even be incapable of normal emotion too)

That said, Yuuma's the one of these that wouldn't care in the slightest. She's an outlier of the matriarchs. She doesn't really try to get subordinates - the animal spirits just follow her anyway because she's so cool. If you're lucky, she might not consider the calories worth the effort.

The jail time criteria here is "are they allowed to drink?" With some exceptions. Which, lo and behold, almost every single Touhou character canonically does. Our friendly neighborhood bookworm included. Also, if memory serves: Kosuzu is almost the same height as Reimu. Why she's generally regarded as being on the shorter side is anybody's guess.

@@smol_hornet613 She's generally seen as being shorter because of Forbidden Scrollery's art style, mostly. All of the girls are depicted as basically tiny there, but even compared to the other 2hus, Kosuzu's consistently barely taller than Marisa, who's infamously small in basically every official thing she shows up in. My only complaint with the "Kosuzu doesn't go in Jail tier" thing is that Sumireko and Chiyuri both got insta-locked into jail solely because of their age, but Kosuzu doesn't despite being younger than both of them at 14 y/o, because she didn't get in trouble for drinking.

@@H1_R3Z I haven't really gotten the impression of the girls being smaller in Forbidden Scrollery. Nitori is an hilarious exception, but other than that most of them are about as tall as Reimu, which from what I've seen is a pretty average height for a young japanese girl. On a side-note: comparing any character's height to Marisa, in particular, is an up-hill slope. She is consistently just shorter, or just as short, as whoever she's standing next to. I've seen frames of her being as tall as Reimu. There's even one shot in FS where Kosuzu, Reimu and Marisa are *all* the same height. Also, Kosuzu has a canon age? This is the first time I've heard that.

Forgive me gentlemen for being late to this kappa party. But allow me to throw a curveball here. I actually like her attitude in the fighting games (and by extension the print works) I don’t believe it conflicts at all with her portrayal in MoF. I believe Nitori is a gal with many layers, and depending on the situation you see different sides of her. Having said this, allow me to present how I see confession and rejection would go down. In my opinion. You are likely to get a two somewhat similar reactions, depending on when and where you did your confession. I’m scenario 1, you find her alone on the Youkai mountain, and then proceed to tell her how you feel. She is very likely, to give you a good hard look for about a min, and then quickly comprehending what you just said, becomes red with embarrassment, she turns invisible and bolts for it, either saying she’s sorry or calling you a human weirdo. (Hold on to that last part.) In scenario 2, you find her while she’s at work, trying to sell her wares or working on some project for a customer. If yo come to her and drop your confession then, she will look at you for a few mins, and then give you attitude, accusing you of playing a prank on her, and then she may even threaten you. She then probably tells you to buzz off if your not gonna buy anything. A bit rude isn’t it? Seems like it, until you consider something in both scenarios. She is confused in both, cause she would be trying to wrap her mind around why a random human she’s never met before, is not only hitting on her, but a kappa no less. She may suspect foul play, cause why would a human do that? He seems genuine, but isn’t that weird, that this human wants to romance a creature know for eating human children and taking the shirokodama of humans? (Which is canon in Touhou btw) In both scenarios, she would assume you were up to something. If you corner her alone in the forest, she’s likely to panic a bit more and run off. But if you confront during work, she’s likely to see your actions as intruding on her business or attempts to mess with her. (This is all assuming this is the first time you officially meet her. You may know who she is, but she does not know who you are.) That said, this is all assuming she would reject you, and this is meant to explain why. In a different scenario, I legit believe you can successfully court her, but it would certainly be a funny one.

I had some thoughts regarding you perceiving kappa that way and would like to agree with some points. Such behaviour of kappa might be indeed within acceptible range of her shyness. Her having "many layers" I believe indeed brings a more refined character out of her. Wait what is this even about... no, perhaps I lost a few of those braincells. Anyways! You make sense with that second scenario, I can see people having their different sides all the time. I mean one at work, another while being alone and acting in a different manner and such. On the other hand could it be that she is so shy that she's unable to properly express herself in words? Perhaps she's mix of both or sometimes she's being misunderstood in fighting games? (I really want to bring my headcannon in) I have no clue about hitting on someone or how it works, but I would too see this as a weird thing (random person doing it) without even considering if its a human or a fellow kappa doing it. Also, her using her camouflage to mask herself being shy is cute. There I said it! now I'm embarrassed too.

(Not to mention, if we look at actual kappa mythology, this would look like a insane thing to do. A human trying to court a creature that is infamous for eating children, kidnapping people, and stealing their souls through their butts) Side note: I could absolutely see Nitori making some dark jokes about that. Say you succeed in courting her. She may make a joke like “If I ever see you human with another women, I’ll be taking your shirokodama as compensation.” She says with a cute smile, but menacing aura. That said, If anything, Nitori is probably one of the more likely gals to return your feelings. (Assuming you actually got to know her first and she became familiar with you to some extent. That way, you get to see the other sides of her, and through that, she’s feels more comfortable around you. Earning Trust is the key here.

This is because shrine maidens are technically married to the god they worship and are pretty much suppose to be like nuns where they dedicate their whole life to the deity they worship. They also are suppose to uphold a vow of chastity until it is time for them to step down. When they do get married and have a child, the shrine maiden is expected to step down from their position and let their successor take over. So yeah, they can't get married unless they want to retire early.

They are "married" to their deity until they decide they wanna retire and "formally divorce" to marry someone else and have a successor. Usually the kid comes after the marriage since the baby begins training once they become a young girl and after the start of the menstruation cycle. Sometimes, the miko is appointed by a village chief or voluntarily trained so it's not always a direct generation to generation.
