In 2001 we had someone do an audio interview with my mom before she died (within 6 months). Asked her so many questions about her childhood, school, being a nurse, marriage, and her 6 children. It’s one of my most cherished things I have. I only wished we had this done with my dad. He passed away a few years before my mom.

Fantastic video as always! We have the big 6 gallon Berkey and it’s worth it with a large family home all day. There’s 8 of us and we fill it every other day most of the year. Glad to see your pantry growing! I remember vividly last year we ate out of the pantry same as you right before the lockdowns. There was a brief time of concern there wondering if stores would close and you guys were traveling back from Florida! Prayers always. 🙏🏼💕🙏🏼💕

If you don't already ,you need to get a generator so that all your freezer meat isn't lost if something happens. May be more canned meats/ protein as well as dried milk / buttermilk

I like buying the huge boxes of plastic forks and spoons. We don't always grab for them but boy was I glad to have them when we lost power for DAYSSSSS and frozen water lines. We used our plastic utensils heavily then.

I enjoyed seeing your pantry! I have 3 little ones and am just now coming around to the idea of a bulk pantry. Really, it’s just bc I no longer have time to make a “quick run” to the store. Having extra on hand would be so useful for last minute hospitality. I also like seeing yours bc I tend to buy a lot of the things you do, so seeing that you have that many tomatoes and pasta and sugar etc makes me think I should do this. I need more shelf space though! Thanks!!

The Alaskan Prepper channel today, 5-4-21, showed a chart with real time inflation if you need a reference for planning your emergency pantry.

We tote everything up. Our only shelved items are on our bar stations salad, protein slow lol cooking bar, the rest are totes. kids play & those things can be dangerous, oils, sugars, salts, cleaners. We don't do temptation or rounds if sticking, cleaning, resets. Just tote it up 2 totes high several places & put like food items or meals together. My dad lived in Minnesota kids play, mess so tote up items. So we learned in the 60s totes are your friend. Your food in Minnesota wasn't something you messed with or got bug, dirty,. It was to sustain you thru harsh winters & neglectful summers where we were outside & not inside cleaning. Lol

Such a TREAT to see grandma. So glad she can get back out! She reminds me so much of my mom, a dear Christian, mission minded woman who went to seminary back when only men went! She did all courses for an MDiv but courses only counted as audits. Anyway.... your grandma’s disposition, sweetness and physical appearance reminds so of my mama! This made my day to see her again. Great video.... they always cheer me. Loved the update on emergency stockpile.

For water you should consider putting in a well with a hand pump. It would definitely be worth it during an emergency.

So very smart for a large family to have a little bit of a stockpile because you just never know!

I bought about 70lbs of apples last summer, as local as I could get, and made apple sauce. SO good and canned probably 20 quarts and 10 pints lol. My 1 yr old son takes thyroid meds each morning and we use that for administering and for snacks. It's also a good sweetener for zucchini bread or banana bread!

Your pantry looks fantastic! Something to please consider, it’s important to keep your buckets and any food items 6 inches off the floor. One inexpensive way to accomplish this is to use a pallet. If the pallet is to wide you can cut in half✨
