Super job videoing your beautiful adventure, Sima! Thank you for sharing this with so many of us who are researching this trek around Mont Blanc. I plan to hike it next August 2024. You provided me great insight to the challenge ahead of me. Very calming and peaceful yet triumphant music chosen. Great work!
Sima, we are watching this at your lovely house as your mother's guests. What an achievement! We love the cinematography! The choice of music is superb. Well done! 👏👏👏 we encourage you to do more. 😊
Deep bow for a completed tour and a beautiful recording of it. It`s more than challenging to fly a drone while even four hands are not enough and the rain runs down your neck or the height makes you lose your ground. Thank you for a lovely video, and I can`t wait for another journey..(if I get to choose - South America please :) )
Great video.. so easy to watch and very well put together. Can I ask what recording equipment did you use, drone model? Go pro? Also may I ask if you book campsites in advance and the name of the campsites you stayed in. We starting out TMB on the 3rd of July also camping along the way. Seems like we have a very similar route. Do you know if from La Fouly we could potentialy take a bus back to Courmayeur? Congratulations and well done :)
Thanks! I used a DJI Mavic air 2 and a standard camera (Lumix gx9) however I'd like to try GoPro next time, smaller camera and easier to mount / carry. Campsites, I did book some In general, if you travelling one or two in a group, most likely you'll find space at a campsite. For a bigger group, I'd recommend booking especially in July. I took a bus from la fouly to champex so buses definitely exist. I really can't remember if / how regular buses went to courmayer! But they are both quite big stops on the tour so I would be surprised if a bus link didn't exist!
Such a great video... i really enjoyed your trip. I am heading there in one month and your pictures and videos made everything come alive! I especially loved the video of you on top of the rock on day seven, i think... absolutely breathtaking! Thank you. What type of drone did you use and do you have a lot of experience with them? Great job!!!
Hi, Thanks for posting this video. It is a very good video. I have seen a lot of comments form others on how the whole route is well sign posted. You don't seem to share this view. Is this correct?
Thanks! It is very well signposted. I would say the Italian section is slightly worse than the french and swiss sections, but all three countries are very well signposted.
Wonderful! I’m setting off in a few weeks, two questions: - could you typically buy dinner/charge devices/ use bathrooms at refuges as an unbooked person? i.e. simply paying a usage fee, then camping elsewhere. - was there any part where it was particularly difficult to find food? Would like to bring extra stock for those nights.
- when I went in the end of June/begining of July I didn't get turned out from any refuge for food. Especially as a solo hiker, that was fine. I planned to make my own food most of the time but then after a long days walk I just went to refuges and bough dinner no problems instead. Bathrooms as well no problems. As for charging devices, really depends how early you arrive I guess. If you arrive early before a lot of the big groups, you probably could. I'd definitely bring a portable charger as well. - places where there wasn't much food: no food to buy in trient, but a nice refuge by the campsite in la peuty served nice food; likewise in that section at tre-le-champ, no food stores/shops, but you can camp and eat food at the refuge; if you plan not to stay in Bonatti, there's not much food around there too. Bonatti of course does food but it was full when I stayed, so can't count 100% on getting a space without booking. - in general, i definitely overpacked on food, you can resupply really easily and the extra weight really does add up. Places like Les houches, Les contamines, Les chapieux, courmayeur have resupply options, I'd definitely use them and bring less food to start! - Don't forget many shops will be closed on Sunday! : )
Fantastically presented footage of your 8 day walking trip to Mont Blanc. Phenomenally chosen music( I rather enjoyed it), excellent production as well as all sequences! Professional done! And most important , it is so clear that you enjoyed your trip and put lots of emotions on this video! Love it!!!!
