Lors des commémorations du 75ème anniversaire du débarquement en Normandie, nous avions sorti le Sherman dans le champ situé en face de notre Dog Green Camp installé à Vierville-sur-Mer. C'est à ce moment là que Paul Wirth, un vétéran de la 2nd Armored Division débarqué par erreur le 6 juin 1944 à Vierville-sur-Mer passait par là. Il a donc eu l’occasion de pouvoir refaire un tour sur un char. L'émotion fût vive.
During the 75th D-Day Anniversary in Normandy, the UNIVEM association (a French association gathering mostly WW2 vehicles) was doing a demo with one of its Sherman tanks in Vierville-sur-Mer (Omaha Beach, Dog Green sector). Paul Wirth, a WW2 Veteran of the 2nd Armored Division, who landed (by mistake) on the 6th June 1944 on this very same beach was randomly passing by. He therefore got the chance to have a ride on a Sherman tank again!
