Tour My Updated Permaculture Garden / No fence, less paths, more growing space

The stones are in, the plants are starting to take off, and I’m mulching with chopped straw. I started replacing my rotting wood raised beds with stones in March. A stone garden has been a dream of mine for ages so this year I finally decided to harvest stones from around the farm and make this a reality. I had to buy an additional 3 palettes from a local garden center to help complete the job. The large slabs are repurposed from a garden patio here at the farm. Every single stone you see was laid myself.
As for the cardboard, it’s currently keeping the weeds down in my new walkways. I have yet to decide what to use as a covering.

You are an absolute genius!! And the garden is fantastic. I’m now disabled so I’m not able to garden anymore , it was so hard to face that, been gardening for almost two decades. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through yours ❤❤ Seriously one of the most beautiful gardens I’ve ever seen

I love the use of stone! I would love to use more rock in my food forest but it is so hard to come by around me. I am just starting over in a new (smaller) location and trying to make the most of every inch. I'm with you on the fruit- great way to maximize space on borders and adds dimension.

Good luck starting on your new space! It’s so overwhelming at first, but it also gains momentum so quickly. And then it’s really exciting (and least for me).
