More people should go to living in tiny homes or homes on wheels. Less building and waiting land. Less expensive and housing problems could be solved for low or medium income. We don't need the mansions they are building today!! Smart and very nice man.

This guy is loooovin life! You get the feeling that even if he won the mega-million lotto tomorrow, he wouldn't change much, maybe buy a new truck and paragliding equipment but you couldn't drag him away from the road. In fact, you get that feeling with a lot of nomads, I love it.

Love it. I’m currently working on the transition of my minimal lifestyle. It was going to be me and my husband but the Lord had different plans and he took him home less than two weeks ago. He was 56. Too young. Our Daughter just got accepted in the Navy. My Dearest Roberto I will always love you and I will always miss you my sweet ❤️.

My '96 Tacoma base model is so simple to work on; recently changed 4 shocks and all the ball joints in under 2 hours. Belts, spark plugs and ignition coil with just a basic set of hand tools.

I had a 1984 Hilux, the predecessor to the Tacoma, that I put well over 150,000 miles on. I then gave it to my daughter, and she drove it for several more years. All it ever needed was wear items like brakes and tires. I just traded in my '04 Tacoma on last Black Friday. It was 14 years old, with almost 160,000 miles on it, and had only ever had one "major" repair. Ball joints at 120,000. Other than that, it was oil changes, and brakes and tires. I got $5000 for it in trade, plus they gave me a 50" 4K TV for Black Friday. I have my second Corolla now, the first brand new car I've ever owned. I'd buy "American," but they aren't made here any more, mostly, and aren't nearly as reliable as the Toyotas. It makes me sad, I used to LOVE my Oldsmobiles, and had a superb '64 Chevy full size truck years ago.

The diesel ones they sell in the UK are know for 500,000 plus miles with no engine and transmission problems BEST truck you can buy. :)

Exactly what I was thinking. Im 510, I would have a hard time I couldn't even sit in back with out a crick in my neck. However, it certainly works for him. His organization is inspiring. He says he kept culling it down. I have been culling and I have noticed in reality i use about 1/80th of what I own.

Jim is a real inspiration, he is doing what he loves and his happiness is infectious. It sure proves that "stuff" does not make you happy. As someone who has a fear of heights, I cannot begin to imagine jumping off a cliff, lol. Happy para gliding or sailing to Jim, be safe! Thank you Bob for such an interesting interview!

"taught school for 35 years" He's got a PE coach vibe (the friendly version), I wonder what he taught. He really wanted to show you that dish washing system! And it is good indeed. I see he's got Welch's in there, but with that great regional accent I wanna hear him say "Smuckers" like the old TV commercials. 'Nother good one.

I love this guy's energy and spirit! Very nice build and organization I love the woodwork. He's come up with so many clever implementations and tips. I love his dish washing system and all the configurations for the bed and table. How brilliant to reuse the wet wipes! Environmentally I really wish everyone reused them like he does. I have an Isuzu Rodeo and I've been thinking about how to build my bed platform for ages. His solution for the legs to his bed platform are brilliant, I'm going to use that technique. I wish we could have seen how he has the tarp set up, that makes a really nice extended shade space.

Great video ! My husband has a camper on his f150 and we have been scratching our head trying to think of a way to make a counter and have room for 2 person bed and this is an awesome idea the way that board just slides right in to make the bed bigger!

My dad told me if you put plastic under a mattress you stay warmer because cold air won't come through it in a raised bed. It works. My house is 150+ yrs. old. I needed all the help I could get to stay warm when I first moved there. Safe travels.

I love your videos. I will be returing in 15 to 17 years and I am using a lot of my research off your channel and living as a minimalist. I just have to convince my wife we need to do that for at least 6 months out of each year while in retirment. I love camping and it would be great to camp all the time in beautiful places for cheap.

Jim is a fast mover. He must eat a lot of fruits and veggies. I don't like heights so I won't be jumping off àny cliff but I'd like to try out my walking sticks or just walk reg maybe with a few others. He has a nice build and doesn't need a ton of room. Awesome setup, Jim! I recently watched a bunch of paragliders out on the Oregon coast (Cape Lookout?) and talked with a few of them. I was surprised to learn, with the right currents, you can stsy up for several hours.

Built one of these in 1989 in a small toy pick up. Built 2 boxes over wheel wells the lenth of truck with plywood w/2x4 runners in center. Made many wonderful trips in that rig. Retired now and building a van. My favorite channel is Cheap RV living! Hope to see you guys out there soon!
