Tour of Canyons-Gravel Grinder from Grand Junction, CO to Moab, UT 

At the end of May in 2022, Traci Giefer and I embarked on a 3-day bikepacking route, staying in San Juan Huts along the way. The route wound through the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area, then along the Delores River canyon walls via Gateway, Colorado to Paradox, Colorado. Then it heaved up and over the La Sals, glancing Mount Peale, before descending into Moab on bentonite and rocky gravel roads. San Juan Huts include cots, bedding, food and drink, making it a more convenient and light-weight way to travel by bike. The huts accommodate up to 8 people.
