Tour of Chateau de Burnand - after Restoration - with its Owner. 

Thank you everyone for your very kind comments, this warmup our hearts and is the best reward for our work ^^. Thank you “So Chateaux TV” for bringing in the light those like us who try to maintain and restore these witnesses of our past. We are only the temporary guardians of these ancient buildings who must live centuries after us to maintain a live example of our history for next generations. I read a few comments about the tar we used for the roads. I understand and agree with the comments. But I have to explain that based on our experience of restoration of 5 chateaux before this one, and welcoming guests, gravel and sand roads are causing a lot of damage on our old parquets inside the Chateau. So we chose a chalk base tar that will get much brighter (light grey) with time, on the video it had been done a few weeks ago so it looked very black. Sometimes we have to find compromises so that our Chateaux and their grounds remain functional for those coming to spend their holiday. Thank you again for your support and kindness. After 3 consecutive years of holidays in one of the five chateaux we are delighted that we will be able to stay in the chateau the Burnand in 2024. The whole experience is worthwile : the suberbly restaured castles, the environment and the excellent service and care of the whole team! We hope you keep up the good work in preserving castles for the future.

Project number 6! Wow. This requires real passion and dedication. I admire him and his entire family. Fantastic work and so much needed for such properties. Its not only about having the funds,its way more than that. Its the overall attitude. The man looks so pleasant,his energy. Somehow quietly proud. Tactful and humble. Each member must bring the talent to pull off such a restoration which skillfully includes the beautiful historic features with the modern amenities. Your wife is a gifted designer/decorator. Les vitraux de Cluny sont magnifiques, tout comme la toiture bourguignonne façon Hospices de Beaune .La restauration des parquets avec différentes essences de bois a du être fastidieuse ! Beau résultat ! Les plafonds ont retrouvé une belle allure. Félicitation pour votre travail avec votre femme, votre fils et famille, amis . The owner is clearly very proud of the result and he should be. Despite the commercial aim he put a lot of respect towards the restauration of this unique Disney-like but absolutely not fake castle. Besides the obvious corners cut regarding group furniture and decoration the only big critic I have is the use of tar around the castle. Gravel would have been so much nicer and more authentic. With some tiling for the ladies. I hope the owner sees my comment and rips it out again :D However I was even more impressed by the barn, from a styling perspective. It had so much presence. Simply gorgeous. I would not rip out any of the stables/ flooring/ etc. I would make small simple cottages around it and make the old barn the center facility. Heck, maybe even use it as "horse riding holiday" event if there are enough trails around the farm area. Just my two cents, big kudos to the owner and team. 🍺
