The spooky music scared me so much on my first EVER watch I thought I was in a horror movie and while I was doing my comment I got a new iOS update lol.
The spooky Schindler was probably left on out of service mode. Did it have a keyswitch that said "Lift Service" or something like that? If it was set to Off, that's probably why it didn't work. The David Jones Schindler at Westfield Carindale was left in a state similar to that.
3:08 pressure bar? Many lifts in Indonesia have those, even in 2009. It starts to go extinct as lift replacement becomes common, even though new lifts like sigma (Otis from Korea) still use those in 2010s
The fire exit door at 7:25 leads to the fire exit next to boots and the créche by the bus stop. I guess the reason why the stairs to the lower mall are not with these ones is because if there was a fire people would accidently go on to the lower mall which that part is underground and has no exit to outside
hey ben can you do a lift tour time in kidderminster in the west midlands in worcestersher the lifts are in sainsburys the range the swan centre currys dunelm m&s next sports shop kidderminster libruy tk maxx debenams dw sports tj huges its now bhf and premire inn
I've always wondered what the music was at 7:11 and why this lift was never working, perhaps because a fault must have occurred in the shaft that was preventing the lift from actually working but the indicator and doors still being open or the lift may have had this problem for many years and Bromley just doesn't care about the lift to repair it. I've always wondered what's on LM, and I think I have a solution. If the stairs don't go further to UM and the fire exit door is there which leads out to the Boots, Car Park and Bus Stop, LM (which is supposedly behind the toliets) could be a passageway that links down to even further and remoter levels which the public can't see. If this is true, then that could be the reason the stairs stop at UM and don't continue further and that could also imply that LM has no fire exit and if a fire did occur you would be stuck down there.
I like the intro for this video. I also wonder why you don't zoom in on your maps anymore. NebulaWinx is right: This place is definitely worth a re-visit!
I went to the glades shopping centre about a week ago, and whilst I didn't get in the spooky lift, I did see where it comes out in the upper mall, round the back of Boots in the upper mall, there is a place where you pay for your car park ticket opposite the glass lifts. There is a door there that says 'fire exit' that leads to a very dingy service passage that presumably leads to the lift. I would assume there is a similar situation on the lower mall, but this area is occupied by toilets on the lower mall, so I assume that there will be some sort of passage way in the lobby of the toilets next to boots that will lead to the lift. Also, did you compose the music in this video (and in your other scary lift videos) yourself, and if not, where did you get it from?
bakedbeanishdragon This is one of my older videos. As far as I remember I got the music somewhere of the internet. There must be a lot more lifts in the glades than what is publicly visible. Also there is an underground service area underneath.
***** Yes, I agree with you there. There are lots more passages leading from the car parks that say 'no access to shops' and a few of them also look like they have enough room to hold lifts there. I would assume the debenhams atrium also has at least one of these lifts, and that they our out of normal use so that they can be used in the event of a fire. It's a shame that I didn't get to check out the lifts whilst I was there.
Westfield Carindale used to have epic Schindler M-Series elevators, but in 2011 they went and bastardised the fixtures for most of them, replacing the epic M-Series buttons and beautiful S-Series indicators with shitty Blue Dewhurst US95 and an even shittier Alphasoft LCD. Luckily the service elevators, a tiny hydraulic M-Series and the one in David Jones have survived.
Benobve, you're the coolest subscriber I have. Can you try going back to the shopping centre and see if the lift in the very end the last one works? then take me to lower mall
the main lift works in boots car park there is a weird abandoned lift no elevator photographer knows the story on it nobody has seen it working no elevator photographer has seen it working or know when it was abandoned people like myself have been to this lift and it does not work
