We had a great time in L.A. It was a bit cool but warm to us and we managed to avoid the rain and snow there. I'll have a series of videos from our trip and art hauls from these stores will be their own videos so subscribe so you don't miss out.
No talking in this one, just sit back and look at all the lovely art supplies. This store just astounded me. I've been in bigge,r square footage-wise, art stores (Hyatt's in Buffalo) but the variety and selection of things here was incredible.
And there is no use telling me I suck at videos. It is a combination of iphone, being overwhelmed and excited, having shopping in my hands, having a husband waiting on me, and not trying to raise suspicion.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with my questions. Highly recommend this store!

American art stores always seem to have so many options! My art store might have 2-3 easels to choose from, while a US art store has 20! I recognize I’m lucky to live in a city that even has an art store (I live in a *small* city), but they understandably carry a limited number of brands and options. Of course, even when I travel, I typically can’t take advantage of being in a store with such variety because I’m usually restricted by carry-on size and liquid allowance. I’d be all over the paintbrush aisle and looking at palettes of half pans, something small that I could bring home 😂.

I think I've said this before but when I lived in Hamilton for a few years we only had one store and it always seemed like it was going out of business so yes I'm lucky in Toronto. I definitely went for small and light stuff.

@@sueallen952 I don't know what I would do without being able to go into an art store. Where I last lived we only really had one art store with a lack of stock but at least you could touch paper, get inspired, try out something etc. I'm so glad I'm back in a city with more art stores. But thank goodness you can still get art supplies.

I love looking at art hauls because it gives me views of items I have never seen or considered.I really liked visiting this art store virtually. It was easy on my wallet unlike a visit to a physical art supply building. Thank you for sharing

I would say wheres the nearest postoffice so i can send thru mail of everything i art hauled..lol or see if i can get these items delivered thru their website...id rather buy art supplys then go clothes shopping..enjoyed video....have a good day mikelle art mom 🎨👩‍🎨

Shipping in North America is just sooo expensive. It's cheaper to order from Europe to N. America so I never do it. And definitely some of those easels would be a small fortune to ship. Luckily I managed to find some wee things.

@@davidmolloy126 Yes if I ordered from say Blick's in the US to Canada it starts at $25 for shipping even if that is just for a pencil. And it doesn't take long for it to go to the next level of $50. Then I might get dinged with customs on top of that. Whereas ship said pencil from Jackson's via Sweden and it's $2

You should check out Boesner locations in Europe. They are on a big scale depending where you are. It was my first stop in Berlin years ago.

I love that I live next to Art Supply store, it's addicting but I'm not happy with them after their last event. So I haven't gone back but they are phenomenal!!!!!!!!

Oh no, sorry to hear about that event. I would find it too tempting to be that close to an art store. The nearest one to walk to is about 25-30 mins or 15-20 by transit so that's enough not to make me pop in all the time.

@@PayneWaterStudio Yes as my husband who had to drive would tell you. I think it was Arrested Development where they said not to call it the OC 🤣 We went for a walk around Long Beach after. I get that pet peeve. In Toronto we get the "Greater Toronto Area" but that includes full cities outside of Toronto and with our traffic too that can be way more than half an hour. When I lived in a nearby city for 4 years we always saw things referred to as "an hour outside of Toronto" when they meant Hamilton, definitely its own city. I love those eggs and would've loved to have seen them on display as part of a show. And I would've really loved the 25% off!!! You're very lucky to live nearby that store (and for the weather!). So jealous. Shipping to Canada is so expensive and I'm finding the prices on par especially with the exchange rate.

Ha! No eggy stuff inside. They are usually painted, I believe, but I've also seen them carved.

They were selling ostrich eggs because during march they have a gallery show where people can submit their painted ostrich egg. It’s a cool show! They also have one of their big sales during that time 25% off entire store. You can also purchase online

@@mm55589 we haven't got snow so far and you can have it when we get it 😂 Yeah Michael's can be too expensive and not the same range of professional art supplies that you would get in a proper art store. That's a long way to go for a Blick's. Luckily in Toronto we have some really great independent art stores or I would be lost. The last city I lived in was an art store desert. I still like to physically go into a store

They had ostrich eggs because they just had an art show where people submitted their painted ostrich eggs
