We are trying to get over there within the next month ourselves. It is such a great store!

They are just so fun!

They expanded this one a few years ago & added more of these wonderful goodies. It really is a great store & I didn’t even show it all. I didn’t film the bakery / donuts or the freezer / refrigerated aisle. James was helping me film & we thought the other got them.

@@ifthecreekdontrise wow, what a treat to have close by; I love going to the Amish stores. We are going to have to plan a trip to Pennsylvania to really see it all. My mom and aunt went a few months back and she said, of course, that Patrick and I would love it.

@@InTheKitchenWithMommaMel we've never been to amish country in Pennsylvania. We have a huge Amish community in Indiana (Shipshewana) which is about 3+ hours from us. Then we also love to go to Holmes County OH - the amish country there is gorgeous. Lots of shopping in both places.

I’ve never seen them anywhere expect at Trader Joe’s at holiday time. They are so delicious. I probably should’ve picked one of these up to try!

It is! Sure wish we lived closer.

How exciting! When our sons were at home, we tent camped and then upgraded to a trailer and camped in that for many years! Made some of the best memories ever! We often go to Shipshewana. For many years we camped at a campground called Amishville USA (my husband‘s family actually camped there when he was a little boy). It is in the area of Berne, Geneva, Portland IN. That is an Amish community and we’ve always enjoyed visiting there. They have Swiss Heritage Days maybe in the fall and we would try to plan and camp around that time. And we absolutely love the Holmes County Ohio area. It is some of the prettiest Amish community you’ll ever see. We try to go there at least once every other year for a long weekend. I grew up in Anderson (IN) and my husband in Liberty (IN). We are now south-central.

I understand completely! We wish we had one a little closer but I'd probably be buying too many of those baked goods if we did! LOL

I don't believe so ... their website doesn't show any option for that. You may try walnutcreekcheese.com ... it's an Amish store based in OH & you can shop their website and have things shipped.

The ones we visit make fresh donuts and bake all their bread / pies / cookies, etc. As for the canned items or packaged candy, those are probably from manufacturers. We enjoy every time we get to shop there.

From my Mom:. I've been a crafter for over 30 years to help raise my son. Hated it when my neighbor or neighbors were buy/sell people. I worked hard sewing and making each item by hand but they made tons of money making Asian countries richer. Sore spot for me when so-called Amish or farmers markets are fakes. Not the honest, hard working folks they pretend to be.

@@billbottoms8295 In life, we’ve got to take the good with the bad & find the positive wherever we can. The small Amish grocery stores we’ve visited are an asset to their community. I’m sure anyone who purchased your handmade items were so happy to have them!

That would be sad for sure. There are some Amish communities that are quite affluent & I'd imagine their land will stay within their families & communities.
