Here's my bike and gear check ahead of Tour Te Waipounamu, New Zealand's premier bike packing race. Spanning 1,300km over the length of the South Island, the route has several notorious hike a bike sections and plenty of technical riding to make it one of the toughest events on the bike packing calendar. Have you got the NZ base maps loaded into your Garmin so there’s not a repeat of the TD start? Looks like a good setup, keeping the weight down with all the hike a bike is a great idea. Good luck!

Hi Joe - Fantastic result in the TTW!! Well done - just wondering what your helmet light is and the brand of the small ziplock plastic bags you're using? - they look to be a bit more "industrial" than the ones from the supermarket. Any thoughts on riding The Silk Road Mountain Race??
