I used to go to The Woodworking Show every year when they were held in Chicagoland. They haven’t been around for a long, long time. I really enjoyed their demonstrations and introductions of new tools and it was great to be able to speak with the owners/developers of these unique tools. I heard that the company running the shows had some financial problems. I hope that woodworkers will support these vendors at the show so the show can continue and expand back to the glory days. I was able to make many purchases there, participate in demonstrations and anticipate what I would see next in these huge shows. I also sadly remember the show decreasing in overall square footage as vendors stopped selling their wares there before the show failed to continue.
Yeah, on their website it said that they just recently started back up and the owner sent a nice thank you letter after I purchased my ticket to go, totally agree even if it is a little bit of a smaller experience it’s still really a lot of fun for $14! (Cost of a coffee now 😂)
Hi. Thanks for stopping at our booth at the NJ Woodturners. I’m the president and sorry I missed you. Didn’t know you were local but if you want to know more or join our club, our next meeting is on the 26th.
Honestly there aren’t many here in the us outside of Las Vegas. I found this one by luck looking at the expo centers calendar, my sons like going to the rock show there every year. Which is a shame events like this are fun to attend!
I was at the show as well, I saw you interviewing The shaper rep. I never thought about the recording gear a youtuber uses. could you do a video on your iphone set up? the app you use, the rig you have it in. Great video, keep up the good work.
Thanks! I will try and get some shots of my las Vegas rig (I’m going to the national hardware show in Vegas next month for a influencer summit and to tape the new tools at the show) so I bought a bunch of different equipment for that. The woodworkers show is small so i just took a phone, light with cage and lav mics. I’m going hard core for the Las Vegas show over a 3 day stint, might end up making 3ish videos on that one (breaking up the topics)
I was going to go to Holz HandWerks mega convention in Germany. Thousand plus exhibitors. Largest trade show in world I think. Pandemic happened and trip was canceled. Still hoping on going one day. So many things to see. I do make it to the woodworking shows in the Twin Cities area thanks to our busy woodworking guild.
You know I have seen it a bunch of times in videos and kinda dismissed it as I have a bed cnc already. But after seeing it in person and seeing how you just move it to the general area and then it moves to accomplish the task, very very nice. The only main negative is that you just can’t hit go and walk away from it, you have to attend to it the entire time but it does make it to where you could do it on anything anywhere at any time which is very cool! I’m hoping I can get my hands on one as well sometime soon!
