Tour this Cute Farmhouse Turned Airbnb 

Watching this after seeing your newly purchased cottage, I can see why you were so inspired with what you will be able to do with your new home. So charming! The wallpaper! Oh my!

I have never stayed in an Airbnb. Absolutely beautiful. Designer did a great job in making it feel spacious and comfy at the same time. This shows with the images of your family enjoying the home. You should do more of these tours.

Lame as it sounds, I loved seeing the fire extinguisher sitting out. In my own home I know where it is. But knowing while I am traveling gives me peace of mind to sit back and enjoy the beautiful house and surroundings.

Just a little smaller than our "home kitchen". Looking from dining room to the living room front door entrance...the front door looks to be the same color as the dining room chairs which makes it look cohesive and she used similar colors throughout the whole home, but in different ways which really makes it cohesive also...thanks for sharing ❤

I agree, Shay Mattingly did an excellent job designing this home! I love how she seems to have thought of every detail. I think the way she added all the extras helped to make it feel so cozy and homey. Also, leaving the small rooms intact instead of opening up the spaces was key to the design, in my opinion. People seem to love the way old homes feel, but when they buy one, they choose to knock down walls and make an “open concept”, which totally changes the feel of the home, as well as it’s historic value. I really dislike it when homes look like one era on the outside, but the inside has been “updated” to reflect a different era that is totally incongruent with the age of the home. I know, I’m opinionated about this subject, lol! When we started restoring our 1910 home, we wanted to make it more interesting, so we salvaged architectural elements from other old homes, from the time period it was built, and added those into the design, giving it more detail, but true to the period. We left the footprint of the home intact and added on to it. I used the ideas in Sarah Susanna’s book, Not So Big House, to help me design the spaces. I wanted the home to feel cozy and sheltering. Back to this Airbnb, the way the designer added specific items that would be used a certain way, like the board games and record player, served to bolster the homey, nostalgic feel of a bygone era. Even though the decoration tends to have a more modern feel, as to the wallpaper and paint colors, it still feels cohesive to the home. It’s beautiful and comforting. Well done, Shay! Thanks for this great resource. My Mom, Grandparents and Uncles lived in Idaho Falls and are buried there. I would definitely lease it if we needed to go back there.

That's a Cape Cod with a galley kitchen! Probably built in the 40s-50s. My family of 5 was living in a similar house in NY, and while it definitely was challenging, it was charming, and it was our little cottage. Now we're in TN, and it's hard to find a house like this.

Hi Cami thank you for sharing this cozy Airbnb. I loved seeing every detail. I use to live in a big old home that had been decorated not long before we moved in. It was my dream home and we were there several years so we were changing the look some over the years with mostly wallpaper. I love wallpaper but we built our new home about 15 years ago now and I have not added any wallpaper but I am thinking about adding an accent wall in my bedroom and ensuite. I love our home we are in now but I also love older homes and sometimes dream about buying one and redecorating it. Thank you again for sharing! God bless!

This home looks like the quintessential New England Cape Cod. I live in New England, and my Beloved takes me on journeys and we see this style home as we drive through the small towns. It’s the design that both myself & husband are drawn to.

I recognize LOTS of Target decor! They really have some beautiful things that look high end. I am afraid to use color and patterns, but this has given me some inspiration. We just moved into a very neutral home in September, and I haven't done much to it yet because I want to do it right. I love the different color trim all over the house.

When I purchased my glass top cooktop the instructions said that I couldn’t use my copper bottom revere pans. I was surprised to see the beautiful copper kettle on the stove top. Was it copper on the bottom?

Cami, I have a question: is the appliance on the left side of the kitchen counter a coffee maker? And if so, do remember the brand?
